Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Resolution Copper Company, Superior, AZ:
Assisting and contributing to mine design activities, including generating geotechnical procedures and guidelines to drive design requirements regarding geotechnical stability of lateral and vertical development activities and long-term design decisions concerning mine infrastructure planning. Providing geotechnical inputs to Resolution’s future mine plans and designs. Managing and coordinating underground geotechnical activities, including regular and ad-hoc ground inspections, to provide recommendations for the operational team. Assessing the ground- related risks and proactively providing sound decisions for operational safety. Analyzing baseline surface
geotechnical data, including LiDAR, InSAR, TDRs, Fiber optics, and tiltmeters. Implementing, maintaining, and verifying the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) which aligns and comply with the MSHA requirements.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
- Must have 4 years of experience in Geotechnical Software, including experience in any combination of the following tools: Map3D, Deswik, Unwedge, RS2, Dips, Vulcan and/or MapTek.
- Must have 4 years of experience in Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring;
- Must have 4 years of experience in Empirical, numerical, and kinematic analysis for developing ground support design; and
- Must have 4 years of experience in Geotechnical risk management activities.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Domestic travel required up to 5%.
