About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Regional Goods & Services who will support several business units in the RTP Africa region. The purpose of this role will be to Provides support to the Manager Regional Goods & Services on strategic sourcing projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable contracts and deliver optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Category, you will:
- Leading the portfolio of associated categories
- Collects and generates domain knowledge and market analysis regarding the sources and drivers of value creation through purchasing
- Develops, Implements and present category strategies to Senior RTP leaders for endorsement
- Ensures sound category management processes are followed, project implementation methodologies are deployed, and implementation is completed in accordance with RTP’s process, documentation and governance requirements
- This will include processes such as negotiation, risk mitigation, change management and innovation
- Conducts and implements contract management (e g: contract execution, implementation, supplier reviews) for assigned contracts or arising from sourcing projects previously executed
- Deliver value to the business based on life cycle management principles
- Manages, engages and influences key stakeholders for the portfolio (internal and external to the business)
What you’ll bring
- Degree or Diploma (Commerce, Legal, Engineering)
- 2-5 years’ experience in Procurement, Consulting or related field will be advantageous
- In depth understanding of contract management and contract management principles
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders across all spectrums of the
- An appreciation and ability to grasp Commercial Law and Mining
- Familiarity or an ability to quickly understand a variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient in French language proficiency will be advantageous
- Computer literate on MS Word, Projects & Excel
- SAP and Ariba experience will be highly advantageous
- Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment
- Project Management experience
