Nous sommes à la recherche d’un ou d’une analyste de catégorie régional(e) – Afrique (installations fixes et équipement mobile) pour notre équipe Approvisionnement – Atlantique basée à Montréal, au Québec. L’analyste de catégorie soutiendra principalement les unités d’affaires de Rio Tinto en Afrique (Afrique du Sud et Madagascar) et participera à l’élaboration et à l’exécution des stratégies de catégorie ainsi qu’aux programmes de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs. Son rôle consistera à tirer parti des stratégies de catégorie et des partenariats à l’échelle mondiale ainsi qu’à gérer les contrats.

Ce poste constitue une excellente occasion pour un(e) professionnel(le) de l’approvisionnement de contribuer à la création d’une valeur durable et de procurer à Rio Tinto un avantage concurrentiel en Afrique.

Responsabilités

  • Intégrer la sécurité dans les processus de contrat et d’approvisionnement afin de respecter et de dépasser les normes de sécurité de Rio Tinto.
  • Agir comme partenaire stratégique auprès des établissements de Rio Tinto en Afrique afin d’assurer la qualité du service et la performance des fournisseurs stratégiques attitrés. Bâtir des relations et collaborer étroitement avec les parties prenantes internes, les fournisseurs et les partenaires externes pour assurer la réussite des stratégies d’approvisionnement.
  • Consolider la collecte des données internes en collaboration avec les principales parties prenantes afin de comprendre pleinement les besoins de l’entreprise. Établir et gérer des bases de données de fournisseurs personnalisées.
  • Fournir des analyses commerciales et des études de marché approfondies pour soutenir les négociations commerciales.
  • Mener des analyses détaillées ainsi que des activités de sourçage, d’appel d’offres, de négociation et de mise en œuvre.
  • Négocier et mettre en œuvre (avec de l’aide) des contrats complexes, de grande valeur et/ou à risque élevé avec des fournisseurs.
  • Gérer des contrats mondiaux et régionaux et mettre en place une solide structure de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs pour renforcer les partenariats et la création de valeur.
  • S’assurer que tous les projets sont conformes aux politiques, aux normes et aux directives de l’Approvisionnement et du Groupe Rio Tinto, et qu’ils répondent aux exigences d’approvisionnement et d’exploitation.
  • Collaborer efficacement avec ses collègues de l’Approvisionnement mondial en Afrique, au Canada et en Australie afin d’optimiser les résultats.

À propos de vous

Pour que votre candidature soit prise en considération, vous devrez posséder les attributs suivants :

  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires ou en ingénierie.
  • Au moins quatre ans d’expérience éprouvée en gestion de catégorie dans le domaine de l’approvisionnement et de la chaîne logistique. Expérience en Afrique, un atout.
  • Expérience en équipement électrique minier fixe et mobile.
  • Ouverture d’esprit et transparence dans les relations interpersonnelles et sensibilité aux réalités culturelles. Facilité à gérer les parties prenantes appartenant à des réseaux complexes et à différentes cultures.
  • Expérience en gestion de catégorie et de contrats; compréhension des processus et des principes de la chaîne d’approvisionnement et attention accordée à la SSE (santé, sécurité et environnement). Bonne connaissance des logiciels d’approvisionnement comme Ariba, SAP et Power BI.
  • Compétences en gestion de projet, en résolution de problèmes et en gestion des relations avec les clients et les fournisseurs. Excellentes compétences en communication verbale et écrite avec les parties prenantes internes et externes.
  • Capacité à obtenir des résultats dans le cadre de partenariats et de collaborations, à tenir compte des intérêts des parties prenantes et à exercer une influence positive.
  • Gestion du temps efficace et capacité à concilier de multiples priorités qui se font concurrence.
  • Capacité à adapter son horaire de travail aux différents fuseaux horaires, en participant régulièrement à des conférences téléphoniques le matin dès 5h (environ deux ou trois fois par semaine) et occasionnellement en soirée.
  • Solides compétences analytiques; capacité à recueillir et à compiler des données, à utiliser des feuilles de calcul et des tableaux dynamiques croisés ainsi qu’à faire de la modélisation et de l’analyse de scénarios. Capacité à formuler et à présenter des analyses et des cas d’affaires pour appuyer des stratégies de catégorie complexes et des recommandations d’attribution.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (à l’écrit comme à l’oral). Rio Tinto est une société mondiale; les responsabilités associées à ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidienne avec des collègues, des équipes et des partenaires de l’extérieur du Québec.

Procurement Category Analyst – Africa

About the Role

We are seeking a Regional Category Analyst – Africa (fixed plant and mobile equipment) for our Atlantic procurement organization based in Montreal, QC. The Category Analyst will primarily support Rio Tinto business units in Africa (South Africa, Madagascar) and will will assist in the development and execution of category strategies and management of supplier relationship Management programs. The objective of this role is to leverage global category strategies and partnerships and manage contracts.

This role offers a great opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to the delivery of sustained value and the generation of competitive advantage for Rio Tinto in Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate safety into contract and procurement processes to meet and exceed Rio Tinto safety standards.
  • Act as a strategic partner for Rio Tinto sites in Africa, ensuring service quality and performance of assigned strategic suppliers. Build relationships and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to drive the success of procurement strategies.
  • Consolidate internal data collection, in collaboration with key stakeholders in order to fully understand the business requirements. Develop and maintain customized supplier databases.
  • Provide in-depth commercial and market analysis to support commercial negotiations
  • Conduct detailed analysis, sourcing, tender, negotiation and implementation activities.
  • Negotiate and implement (with support) complex, high value / risk supplier contracts.
  • Manage global and regional contracts and implement a strong supplier relationship management structure to enhance partnerships and value creation.
  • Ensure all projects comply with Rio Tinto Procurement and Group Policies, Standards, and Guidelines and are aligned with procurement and operational requirements.
  • Align and effectively collaborate with global procurement colleagues in Africa, Canada and Australia to deliver optimal results

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of proven experience in category management in procurement and supply chain. Experience in Africa is an asset.
  • Experience in electrical, fixed and mobile mining equipment.
  • Open-mindedness and transparency in interpersonal relations, cultural sensitivity. Ease in managing stakeholders across complex networks and different cultures.
  • Experience in category and contract management and understanding of supply chain management processes and principles with a focus on HSE Familiarity with procurement software such as Ariba, SAP, and Power BI
  • Project management, problem-solving, and customer/supplier relationship management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through partnership, collaboration, coordination of diverse stakeholder interests and positive influence.
  • Effective time management skills to balance multiple and competing priorities. Self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate different time zones, with regular early morning calls starting at 5am, averaging 2-3 times/week, and occasional evening calls.
  • Strong analytical capability, collect and compile data, use of spreadsheets, pivot tables, modelling and scenario analysis. Ability to formulate and present analyses and business cases to support complex category strategies and recommendations to award.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.

Our interviews could be in person or online. It’s a great opportunity for us to get to know you a bit better, answer any of your questions and talk about the exciting career opportunity you have applied for.

Offers and checks

At this stage, we will let you know if you have been successful. If you have been, we’ll need to conduct a couple of checks, such as a background or security check. You may also need to do a medical assessment. depending on the role. you have applied for.
