Nous sommes à la recherche conseiller principal ou d’une conseillère principale, Compétences culturelles – Amérique du Nord qui se joindra à l’équipe mondiale des Relations Autochtones. Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec les équipes des Ressources humaines en fournissant des conseils techniques et en soutenant le développement des capacités pour exécuter la stratégie des Relations Autochtones.

Ce poste est une excellente occasion pour un ou une expert(e) en Relations avec les Autochtones de contribuer à l’établissement et à l’exécution de nos initiatives afin de soutenir les activités de Rio Tinto dans la région, dans l’objectif d’améliorer continuellement notre performance sociale au bénéfice de nos employé(e)s Autochtones et nos communautés d’accueil.

Relevant du conseiller en chef mondial, Relations avec les Autochtones, vous aurez les fonctions suivantes :

  • Diriger le changement des mentalités à l’échelle de l’entreprise en s’assurant que notre culture de travail respecte et valorise les Autochtones, puis mesurer les changements d’attitude.
  • Faire un examen de référence des programmes actuels de compétences culturelles et proposer des recommandations et des initiatives pour renforcer les compétences culturelles des gestionnaires.
  • Collaborer avec ses partenaires pour livrer des communications internes et externes qui favorisent l’engagement et les activités de représentation.
  • Diriger la définition de la portée, ainsi que la conception et la mise en œuvre des programmes, y compris les jalons des projets, les budgets, les approbations et les exigences des parties prenantes.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les partenaires externes qui possèdent l’expertise requise pour mettre en œuvre le programme.
  • Élaborer une solide feuille de route de mise en œuvre et un plan d’engagement pour les établissements d’Amérique du Nord.
  • Travailler avec les équipes RH, Apprentissage et développement, Communautés et performance sociale et l’équipe du champ d’expertise Excellence des projets, afin de respecter l’orientation stratégique du programme.
  • Surveiller, gérer et communiquer les indicateurs de performance pour s’assurer de répondre aux exigences de l’entreprise.

 
Votre contribution

  • Expérience du travail avec des partenaires Autochtones et de la gestion des prestataires de services.
  • Expérience éprouvée dans la mise en œuvre de programmes d’apprentissage et de développement à grande échelle.
  • Connaissance des cadres d’apprentissage et de développement en lien avec la conception et la mise en œuvre de programmes.
  • Excellente connaissance des pratiques de recrutement de candidat(e)s Autochtones et issus de la diversité, ainsi que du mécanisme permettant d’intégrer les compétences culturelles au sein de groupes diversifiés.
  • Bonne connaissance de la gestion du patrimoine culturel et des exigences législatives.
  • Si vous postulez pour le poste basé à Montréal (Québec), vous devez maîtriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for Principal Advisor Cultural Competence North America to join the Global Indigenous Relations team. You will work closely with site-based Communities and Human Resources teams to guide Indigenous Relations and Communities and Social Performance practice by providing technical advice and supporting capability development to deliver on the Indigenous Relations strategy.

This is a great opportunity for an Indigenous Relations expert to support the establishment and execution of Indigenous Relations initiatives in support of the Rio Tinto businesses across the region, with the objective of continually improving our social performance and benefit to Indigenous employees and host communities.

Reporting to the Global Chief Advisor Indigenous Relations you will:

  • Leads the change in mindsets across the business, ensuring we have a workplace culture that respects and values Indigenous Peoples including measuring attitudinal change.
  • Undertake baseline review of current Cultural Competence programs are in place and provide recommendations and initiatives to continue cultural uplift of leaders.
  • Collaborate and partner to deliver internal and external communications that strengthens engagement and advocacy.
  • Lead the scope, design and implementation of the programme, including project milestones, budgets, approvals, and stakeholder requirements
  • Work closely with external partners with subject matter expertise to deliver the programme
  • Develop a robust implementation roadmap and engagement plan for North America locations
  • Work with HR, Learning and Development, Communities and Social Performance team and Areas of Excellence team to align on the strategic direction of the programme
  • Monitor, manage and report on programme performance indicators to ensure meeting business requirements.

 
What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Have a deep understanding and connection to Indigenous culture
  • Experience working with Indigenous partners and contractor management
  • Proven experience in delivering large scale learning and development programmes
  • An understanding of learning and development frameworks for design and delivery of programs
  • Solid understanding diversity and Indigenous recruitment practices, including understanding mechanism to successful embed Cultural Competency across diverse groups
  • Sound understanding of cultural heritage management and legislative requirements
  • If you are applying for the role based in Montreal, Quebec, fluency in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company, and the duties of this position may require collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec
