Nous sommes à la recherche d’un conseiller(ère) principal(e), évenements et communications qui sera responsable de la conceptualisation, de l’organisation et de l’exécution des plans et des activités lors d’événements, de l’élaboration du contenu de matériel promotionnel, de même que de la rédaction des communications internes et externes. Il ou elle établira une stratégie de parrainage pour Rio Tinto au Canada afin de renforcer la réputation de l’entreprise et de favoriser la notoriété de la marque.

Il s’agit d’une excellente occasion pour assurer du leadership, de la stratégie et de la structure aux événements. Nous sommes à la recherche d’une personne qui fera preuve d’un comportement hautement collaboratif et d’une capacité à puiser de la valeur au sein de l’organisation en mettant en commun les connaissances, l’expérience et les compétences du personnel.

Relevant du chef de service principal ou de la chef de service principale, Communications d’entreprise, et en tant que membre de l’équipe mondiale des Communications d’entreprise, vous aurez les fonctions suivantes: 

  • Élaborer une stratégie de parrainage pour Rio Tinto au Canada afin de contribuer à renforcer la réputation de l’entreprise et de développer la notoriété de la marque.
  • Maintenir un calendrier d’événements et de possibilités pour les hauts dirigeants dans l’ensemble du Canada.
  • Mettre à profit les outils et les processus existants afin de garantir des normes d’excellence cohérentes pour les événements organisés ou parrainés par l’entreprise.
  • Agir à titre d’expert local de Rio Tinto pour la gestion des événements et donner le ton aux événements et aux communications à l’intention des équipes dans tout le pays.
  • Promouvoir activement une culture évoluée au sein des Communications (concentrée, spécialisée, amusante et dynamique) et aider à inciter les membres de l’équipe à participer à l’établissement d’une fonction efficace et connectée.

  • Huit à dix ans d’expérience dans la gestion d’événements de haute qualité pour de grandes entreprises, des agences ou des ministères.
  • Approche collaborative et aptitude marquée pour le travail d’équipe avec les dirigeants de l’entreprise et les pairs plus expérimentés.
  • Excellentes aptitudes démontrées en matière de stratégie et capacité éprouvée à produire des résultats dans un environnement complexe.
  • Capacité à établir et à entretenir de solides relations avec des groupes clés de parties prenantes.
  • Très grande diplomatie et capacité à gérer les conflits et à établir des consensus.
  • Capacité à garder son calme et son attention malgré la pression.
  • Solides compétences en communication orale et écrite.
  • Pensée structurée et organisée et capacité à travailler à un rythme soutenu.
  • Si vous postulez le poste basé à Montréal, Québec, maitrise du français et de l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. About the role 

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. 

We are looking for a Principal Advisor, Events and Communications to be responsible for conceptualizing, organizing, and executing event plans and activities, developing content for promotional materials, and drafting internal and external communications. This role will also develop a sponsorship strategy for Rio Tinto in Canada to help build the company’s reputation and create brand awareness.

This role is a great opportunity for an individual who can provide leadership, strategy, and structure to events. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate a highly collaborative behavior and ability to derive value from the broader organization through sharing knowledge, experience, and skills.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Communications and as a member of the company’s global Communications team, you will: 

  • Develop a sponsorship strategy for Rio Tinto in Canada to help build the company’s reputation and create brand awareness
  • Maintain a calendar of events and opportunities for senior leaders across Canada
  • Build on existing tools and processes to deliver a consistent standard of excellencefor company / company-sponsored events
  • Serve as the local Rio Tinto expert on event management, and provide event and communications guidance to teams across the country
  • Act as an active advocate for an evolved culture in Communications (focused, expert, fun and dynamic), helping to bring team members with us as we build an effective and connected function.

What you’ll bring 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • 8-10 years’ experience in managing high-quality events for large companies, agencies, or government departments
  • A demonstrated collegiate approach and proven track record of excellent teamwork with company leader and senior peers
  • Excellent strategic capability and a proven ability to deliver results in a complex environment
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholder groups
  • A high level of diplomacy and the ability to manage conflict and gain consensus
  • Ability to remain calm and considered under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A structured and organized thinker who is comfortable working at pace
