We are looking for a Supervisor: Logistics Harbour to control the activities of shift staff to optimize production in accordance with predetermined procedures, programs and standards. Ensure the efficient running of the Harbour Logistics d
department in line with RBM safety and quality requirements.
Supervise and the execute the receiving of various RBM materials from site & mine via rail and RMT’s, storing cargo inside port facilities i.e. Sheds, Neo bulk Storage, storing cargo at the back of port external warehouses and be involved with the logistics activities undertaken by front-line operational personnel i.e. Controllers and lead in line with the schedule, standards and performance targets for People, HSEC, Volume & Cost
Reporting to the Superintendent: Outbound & Harbour Logistics, and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Transportation and Logistics, you will:

Provide day-to-day supervision, expertise, and direction to a Harbour team of controllers within an operation area to ensure delivery against plans.

Supervise and lead the execution of the logistics plan to achieve established performance targets.

Ensure Harbour employees, agents, surveyors and TPT/TFR adhere to work standards, are competent, and understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work.

Provide input into harbour or logistics strategies, budgets, and plans as well as the improvement of work management processes and critical controls for material risks.

Provide day-to-day supervision prior to vessel’s loading, during vessel’s loading and monitor the completion of documents with sales/ marketing teams and offer direction to a harbour controller in regard to release of Bills of Lading, adhering to payment of invoices to suppliers.

Provide full support to the Superintendent Outbound and Harbour Logistics, internal stakeholders at plants on site MSP, Slag and Iron Plant, Site Logistics, and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.

Identify and develop cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers and ensure that all aspects of product samples, from delivery to documentation to recording are carried out as per SOP in keeping with RBM standards

Monitor and control the process at the port by communicating directly with shipping agents, port, rail, and site logistics personnel to ensure prompt off-loading of product to ensure zero contamination of product during storage and shipments and to expedite of all shipping orders.

Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science (Attach a valid certificate)

Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain or related qualification (Added advantage)

Computer literacy (MS Office), (MS Excel), PowerPoint Presentation and SAP knowledge.

Valid Drivers License
-
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Shipping Operations.

Exposure to Port operation, Port of Richards Bay, added advantage.
