About the Role
As Senior Advisor – Controllership, you’ll join the Pacific Bauxite & Alumina Controllership team, collaborating closely with the Closing & Reporting teams and Finance Business Partners (FBPs).
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead key financial processes, provide strategic insights, and contribute to continuous improvement across our operations.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Controllership contact for Weipa Bauxite mining operations, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

Identify and analyse accounting issues, connect financial data with business activities, assess impacts, and prepare accounting position papers.

Primary Controllership contact for capital accounting across the Pacific Bauxite & Alumina scope.

Prepare and deliver capital spend reports with clear financial analysis and commentary.

Review projects to determine appropriate accounting treatment and support decision-making.

Perform Blackline reconciliations for manual capex accounts and analyse AUC balances, including period-end accruals.

Prepare and analyse monthly, half-yearly, and annual financial results for external and management reporting.

Conduct reviews on inventory obsolescence, capital spares, standard pricing, and quarterly royalty return calculations.

Support group reporting during half-year and year-end, including analytical reviews, disclosure submissions, and management sign-off packs.

Assist with the annual statutory audit, including review of special purpose financial statements and coordination with external auditors.

Contribute to the standardisation and optimisation of Controllership reports and processes.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, plus a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent).

Strong technical accounting skills; experience in mining and capital accounting is highly desirable.

Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP/BW.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work under pressure.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.

Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial data with operational activities.

Experience in management reporting and working with external auditors or Big 4 firms is a plus.
