About the role
We are looking for an Industrial Mechanic to join the Rio Tinto Maintenance Department and provide installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure our Boron Plants run safely and efficiently. While working, you’ll report to the Maintenance Supervisor, and your duties will include:
- Working in an industrial environment in a team setting.
- Diagnosing and repairing all types of rotating and conveying equipment including pumps, elevators, screw conveyors, conveyors, belting, material handling, and centrifuges.
- Giving and receiving crane signals, while calculating loads and rigs correctly.
- Reading blueprints and drawings.
- Using power and hand equipment, performing various types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and using safety equipment such as harness, lanyards, SRL’s, and scissor lifts.
What you’ll bring

- A high school diploma or GED.
- A valid state driver’s license.
- 4+ years of experience in Industrial Maintenance or as a Millwright.
- The mechanical aptitude and skills to repair equipment.
- Experience in rigging equipment such as wire rope, synthetic slings, cable clamps, hooks, shackles and other rigging apparatus.
- Experience with welding equipment, pipe machines, band saws, drill presses, hand tools, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
