La persona en el rol de Asesor/a Principal en Geociencias brindará liderazgo técnico y operativo en la estrategia de conocimiento del yacimiento para el proyecto Comita y el paquete de terrenos en Colombia. Esto incluye evaluaciones técnicas de nuevas oportunidades de exploración en el país, ejecución de programas de desarrollo de recursos, colaboración con estudios geotécnicos y geometalúrgicos, modelado geológico y de recursos, así como la priorización y prueba de objetivos geológicos, geoquímicos y geofísicos para realizar nuevos descubrimientos.
Este rol será reconocido como especialista en su área, resolviendo problemas complejos y aportando nuevas perspectivas a partir de soluciones existentes. También podrá desempeñar funciones de mentoría o capacitación para personal de niveles inferiores.
Responsabilidades y áreas clave de enfoque

Comprender en profundidad los proyectos y actividades dentro del portafolio regional, nacional o de la unidad de negocio.

Brindar asesoramiento especializado para avanzar en proyectos hacia el descubrimiento o desarrollo operativo.

Generar nuevas oportunidades de seguimiento y participar en la revisión de oportunidades de terceros.

Mantener una red de especialistas en la disciplina dentro de la industria, el ámbito académico y proveedores externos de I+D.

Implementar tecnologías y técnicas nuevas o mejoradas que faciliten el descubrimiento o avance de proyectos/minas.

Evaluar los requerimientos de los programas y aplicar experiencia técnica alineada con la estrategia de la compañía.

Contribuir al desarrollo de capacidades técnicas compartiendo conocimientos y fortaleciendo habilidades dentro del equipo.

Redactar informes técnicos para la gerencia y los equipos de proyecto.

Participar en decisiones estratégicas basadas en el conocimiento técnico de la disciplina y del recurso.

Realizar auditorías técnicas de estimaciones de recursos en etapas de prefactibilidad para diversos commodities.
Lo que necesitas para ser considerado/a

Título universitario en Geología o Geociencias.

Sólido conocimiento en depósitos de pórfido de cobre.

Experiencia en programas de exploración y evaluación de proyectos avanzados.

Capacidad demostrada para resolver problemas complejos en geociencias.

Habilidades de colaboración con redes internas y externas.

Enfoque en excelencia operativa y mejora continua.

About the position
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs
The Principal Advisor I Geoscience will implement technical and operating leadership to the orebody knowledge strategy for Comita and the wider Colombian land package including conducting technical assessments of new exploration opportunities in Country. This includes executing resource development programs whilst collaborating with and being aware of geotechnical and geometallurgical studies, to complete geological modeling, resource modeling, and prioritising and testing geological, geochemical and geophysical targets to make new discoveries.
The Principal Advisor will be recognised as a specialist in their own area. Resolving complex problems and taking a new perspective using existing solutions. May formally mentor/train lower level staff.
Responsibilities & key focus areas

Develops a good understanding of all projects/ activities within the regional/ country/ Business Unit portfolio. Provides specialist advice to assist in the progression of projects towards discovery, or advancement of the operation.

Generates new opportunities for follow up and contributes to review of third party opportunities.

Maintains a network of discipline specialists throughout industry, academia and external research and development providers.

Implements new or refined technologies and techniques that facilitate discovery/ advancement of the project/ mine within the region, country or Business Unit. Assesses the program requirements and applies technical expertise to achieve the Company’s strategy.

Contributes to developing the technical capability of the region/ country/ Business Unit by sharing knowledge, building skills and technical expertise to recognise and act on opportunities.

Undertakes technical and report writing for management and project teams.

Contributes to strategic decision making based on understanding of the discipline/ commodity requirements.

Undertakes technical audits of pre-feasibility resource estimates over a range of commodities
What you will bring and require to be considered for this role

Bachelor’s degree in Geology / Geoscience.

Strong knowledge of Copper Porphyry deposits.

Contributed to both exploration programmes and advanced project evaluation

Demonstrated ability solve complex geoscience problems.

Strong collaboration skills across internal and external networks.

Demonstrated focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Strong communication skills in Spanish and English.
