We are seeking a General Manager, Global Product Marketing – Aluminium to lead the global marketing strategy for Rio Tinto’s Aluminum business. This is a senior commercial leadership role with a global mandate, responsible for positioning Rio Tinto as a multi-commodity, sustainable, and reliable partner of choice. You will drive the development and execution of go-to-market strategies, product and market development, and customer engagement across multiple regions in a highly matrixed organization.
As a key member of the Sales & Marketing Leadership Team, you will lead a diverse team of commercial and technical professionals, shaping the strategic agenda for all aluminum products and markets. This role will report into the Vice President, Aluminum Sales & Marketing. Your leadership will ensure Rio Tinto’s products are recognized for quality, innovation, and sustainability, while building long-term relationships with key customers and partners.
Key Focus Areas

Lead the strategic planning process by product, customer/industry, and key markets, using these strategies to inform resource investment and prioritization.

Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for products and industries, with a particular focus on ESG and sustainability.

Oversee marketing strategy, product and market development, customer-facing and asset-facing marketing initiatives, and product quality management.

Bring the voice of the customer to operations, ensuring customer needs and insights inform business decisions.

Provide post-sale technical support and services to customers, ensuring quality management and satisfaction.

Identify and form strategic, long-term relationships with key customers and partners that align with Rio Tinto’s commercial and strategic objectives.

Drive R&D projects and innovations in collaboration with customers, industry, and technical partners.

Act as a senior advisor to the Product Group, providing guidance on market, customer, and commercial strategies.

Raise awareness and educate the market on Rio Tinto’s products and services through advocacy and industry outreach.

Develop and monitor key performance indicators aligned to the commercial strategy, tracking team performance and progress.
