We are looking for Mobile Equipment Maintenance Inspector to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices on a day-to-day basis to Mobile Equipment Maintenance primarily focused on Le Tourneau and WA900 Loaders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced HD Fitter who is ready to take the next step into an inspector role.

Reporting to Supervisor Asset Health, and working in a collaborative community within Mobile Maintenance on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will:
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
- Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Mobile Equipment Maintenance
- Perform comprehensive and holistic routine inspections of heavy mobile equipment to correctly scope and prioritise jobs, determining repair action when required
- Conduct ad hoc equipment inspections where required and carry out smaller opportune repairs (high risk and/or quick fix tasks) within allocated inspection duration. Follow breakdown escalation process if unable to repair on spot
- Actively work towards increasing equipment reliability as well as availability
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
What You’ll Bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Currently working in a heavy mobile mining equipment role
- Computer skills and previous experience with SAP or similar
- Sound knowledge of legislation and proactive maintenance principles
- Experience maintaining HME equipment – Le Tourneau and WA900 Loaders.
- Excellent diagnostic fault-finding abilities
- Good understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar
- Ability to work cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
- A Current Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual) or higher
- HD Fitter/ HV Electrician, Experienced with L2350's.
- Full Australian working rights, without requiring visa sponsorship.
