Senior Advisor – P2P Systems
- Lead and stabilize complex P2P system landscapes across SAP S/4HANA

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced P2P Systems professional with strong technical and functional expertise to support, stabilize, and enhance our global Purchase to Pay systems landscape. The role sits at the intersection of business process and technology and requires deep problem‑solving capability and system ownership.
The P2P function is an integral part of procurement lifecycle and Group Services team. P2P team as global process owner has delivery responsibility supporting 250+ sites, 500+ companies and large number of suppliers and internal users in managing $20+B payment, 2m+ transactions, 2m+ master data records.
Group Services delivers value by providing efficient and effective finance, accounting, P2P, payroll and employee data services to the Rio Tinto Group. The Rio Tinto office in Gurgaon, (India) is one of our many corporate locations and houses various service and support functions, as well as supporting our product groups including Copper, Coal, Iron Ore, Diamonds& Minerals, Exploration and Technology & Innovation.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced professional in business excellence, and solution design in large scale P2P and shared services domain. The role has global reach, interface with senior leaders across the organization including P2P service delivery, Finance, shared service business improvement, assurance, technology and third-party partners. The role is based out of Gurgaon office, reporting into Director – P2P Systems and Strategy
As part of your responsibilities, you will:
- Act as functional systems owner for SAP S/4HANA P2P, OpenText VIM, and SAP Business Network (Ariba).
- Provide L3/L4 functional support and lead root cause analysis for complex system issues.
- Work closely with IT, AMS partners, and vendors to drive permanent fixes and enhancements.
- Own and manage system changes, enhancements, testing cycles, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
- Ensure P2P systems support strong financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Assurance, and Service Desk teams.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and knowledge management content.
- Contribute to long‑term P2P systems roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- An Engineering graduate degree
- 12–15 years of experience in Purchase to Pay / Source to Pay systems.
- Strong hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, OpenText VIM, and SAP Business Network (Ariba).
- Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex, cross‑system P2P issues.
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end P2P processes and system integrations.
- Experience working in large, global, high‑transaction environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detailed Knowledge of P2P Process
- Implementation experience with Digital Technologies (RPA/ML/AI)
- Experience in Delivering improvement Projects, ideally within Source to Pay, Procurement
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously with limited supervision
- Experience with process mapping and associated tools
- Strong exposure to global business environments/ global roles/ senior stakeholders
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders
- Be self-driven, proactive, result oriented, structured
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English
