As the Advisor – Capability Development you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing learning and capability development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of our employees. Your role will involve helping employees acquire new skills, knowledge, and behaviours that align with their roles and the organization's objectives.
What would you be responsible for:
Learning Design and Development
• Conduct capability needs assessments through surveys, assessments and/or utilise annual performance review cycle to evaluate employee comments related to learning and capability development needs
• Collaborate with functional leadership to understand capability development priorities and tailor capability development strategy accordingly.
• Conceptualise and design capability development programs and initiatives that address the identified learning and growth needs for various employee levels.
• Ensure new initiatives/ programs are aligned with functional and development objectives & business goals
• Develop and support a college graduate development program Learning Delivery and Facilitation
• Facilitate learning and capability development sessions, either in-person or through virtual platforms, to deliver the learning content to employees in a batch or one-on-one coaching and mentoring programs
• Promote employee engagement and participation in the capability development programs by making the content relevant, interactive, and practical
• Facilitate and/or organise workshops aligned with the global learning philosophy of Rio Tinto for mid to senior level roles
• Enable business in reinforcing the learnings by providing resources, job aids, and coaching to implement new skills on the job
Governance Mechanism and Continuous Improvement
• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the capability development programs through participant feedback, performance metrics, and organizational impact
• Oversee calendarization of the learnings as per the requirement for various employee cohorts across India office.
• Ensure outcomes are being achieved & help make improvements for future capability programs
• Ensure resolution of queries and escalations on learning and capability development programs
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in learning and capability development to continuously improve training offerings Management of learning related systems across India office
• Oversee the administration and management of capability development programs through various internal/external systems or applications like Workday Learning, Elements, LinkedIn etc.
• Maintain learning records and track learning progress for individual employees and the organization
• Conduct periodic LMS audits and troubleshoot any technical issues
What experience, skills and qualifications are required:
• A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 8-12 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, or related roles
• Any L&D or coaching related certification: DiSC/BELBIN/Hogan/MBTI etc.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of learning technologies and LMS administration.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering various types of training, including classroom-based and e-learning modules
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess learning needs and measure training effectiveness.
• Proficient project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
