About the role
We are seeking multiple Coordinator Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) professionals to join our Major Works team supporting shutdown and major maintenance activities across Rio Tinto's Pilbara operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. Working closely with Supervisors, Maintainers, Planners and Contractors, you will play a key role in coordinating the safe and efficient execution of major works across Rio Tinto's heavy mobile equipment fleet.
Reporting to the Supervisor Major Works you will help drive shutdown execution, resource coordination and maintenance delivery while developing your leadership capability in a supportive and high-performing team environment.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Supervisor Major Works MEM, you will:
- Promote and lead a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the safe and efficient execution of major maintenance and shutdown activities.
- Support workforce planning, resource coordination and daily shutdown execution activities.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and technical support to team members and contractors.
- Build strong working relationships across maintenance, operations and contractor teams.
- Assist with the prioritisation and coordination of planned and emerging maintenance work.
- Support the delivery of shutdown schedules to achieve safe, reliable and productive outcomes.
- Monitor work progress and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support maintenance reliability through effective communication, planning and collaboration.

Required for Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline or a relevant engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated experience within Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM), mining or a similar heavy industry environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of heavy mobile equipment.
- Leadership capability with the ability to influence, coach and support others.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current Australian Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Helpful for Success
- Experience coordinating shutdowns, major works or large maintenance campaigns.
- Previous leadership, acting leadership or supervisory experience.
- Forklift licence. Dogging and Rigging tickets.
- Section 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification.
- Experience managing contractors within a mining or industrial environment.
- Understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and work management processes.
- Experience supporting reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
