About the role
We are offering a 3-month internship opportunity in Health & Safetyin Rio Tinto’s Resolution Copper site in Superior, Arizona.
The Summer projects and tasks will be defined in the coming months and will be suited to a current student in an industrial or occupational health and safety program.
What you’ll bring
- At least one year completed* in a bachelor or master’s in Industrial/Occupational Health & Safety or another related field
- Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
- Flexibility and autonomy
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Valid driving licence
*To be eligible, you must return to school the semester following the internship period and have the right to work full-time in the United States.

Where will you be working
Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of the US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value of several billion dollars over the estimated mine life. The project will rely on a technique called block caving to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 meters deep. This technique uses gravity to help remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.
