Au sujet du poste 

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) nouveau(elle) diplômé(e) en génie pour se joindre à l’équipe dynamique décarbonation des procédés du groupe des Minéraux de Rio Tinto. Ce poste offre une excellente opportunité d’approfondir les connaissances sur les divers aspects du développement et amélioration Des procédés dans un but de décarbonation, en plus de développer des aptitudes en gestion des actifs. Le poste sera basé à Montréal avec déplacement fréquents à Sorel-Tracy (à raison d’un minimum de 1 fois par semaine)

Le projet ayant pour objectif de trouver des technologies nouvelles et innovantes pour soutenir la décarbonisation de ces installations, représente à la fois un défi et une opportunité pour la transition de Rio Tinto vers la carboneutralité. Bien qu’une certaine réduction des émissions de carbone puisse être obtenue en passant des combustibles fossiles aux sources d’énergie renouvelables pour le chauffage et l’exploitation des installations de traitement, de nouvelles technologies et des modifications aux schémas de traitement traditionnels sont également nécessaires.

Le groupe de traitement des minéraux est chargé de soutenir les projets visant à atteindre l’objectif de neutralité carbone de RT. Nous nous efforçons d’optimiser les découvertes et les nouvelles technologies pour les appliquer à d’autres procédures dans nos unités d’affaire afin de maximiser les bénéfices pour l’ensemble de l’entreprise. Nous sommes convaincus que, grâce à notre engagement continu en faveur de l’innovation, de la recherche et du développement, et à notre volonté de collaborer avec nos partenaires et les communautés locales, nous serons en mesure de concrétiser notre vision d’un avenir net zéro.

Vous aurez entre autres les responsabilités suivantes : 

  • Suivi de l’avancement des projets du portfolio et communication avec les différents groupes de décarbonation.
  • Mise à jour des données de projet en fonction de l’avancement des différentes études et différents essais.
  • Recueil de données et préparation de la stratégie annuelle d’implantation des projets de décarbonation
  • Support aux demandes de financement en lien avec les projets de décarbonation en développement
  • Documentation de suivi de projet
  • Support aux différentes initiatives de décarbonation en fonction de besoins de chaque équipe d’exécution
  • Recueil et analyse de données en vue de la préparation du développement de cas d’affaires de projets de décarbonation
  • Ainsi que plusieurs autres tâches connexes

Votre contribution 

  • Avoir complété votre baccalauréat en génie (chimique/métallurgique, génie mécanique, génie électrique ou autres domaines équivalents)
  • Vous avez de la facilité dans les relations interpersonnelles, une capacité d’influence positive et vous valorisez le travail en équipe
  • Vous êtes rigoureux(se) et structuré(e) dans l’accomplissement de votre travail
  • Vous faites preuve de créativité, d’un bon esprit analytique et d’une forte capacité d’adaptation aux changements
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (à l’écrit comme à l’oral) – Rio Tinto est une société mondiale; les responsabilités associées à ce poste nécessitent de collaborer quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes et des partenaires hors Québec
  • La connaissance de la Suite Office est un atout.

Emplacement du poste

Notre bureau de Montréal est un des sièges sociaux de Rio Tinto et soutien les opérations canadiennes, américaines et autres régions mondiales. Il est le siège social mondial de notre groupe de produit aluminium, chef de file de l’industrie et soutien les activités de production de différents matériaux incluant les diamants, cuivre, fer et autres matériaux industriels. En plus des activités d’ingénierie, notre bureau de Montréal regroupe d’autres fonctions comme le groupe commercial, les achats, ressources humaines, technologies de l’information et finances.

Concernant le bureau de Sorel, il est l’un des principaux fabricants de matières premières de dioxyde de titane, couramment utilisé comme pigment pour fabriquer des finis blancs de qualité supérieure. L’entreprise est un chef de file mondial pour les produits de poudres métalliques de haute pureté. Il produit également du fer et de l’acier destinés à des applications hautement spécialisées, notamment dans les domaines de l’industrie automobile et de l’énergie éolienne.
