Au sujet du poste

Nous offrons un stage de 4 mois (Janvier à Avril) au sein de l’équipe de fiscalité à Montréal. Ce poste offre une excellente opportunité de travailler dans différentes équipes stratégiques. Le stagiaire se joindra à une équipe de 26 fiscalistes, basé au siège social de Montréal, et relèvera du Conseiller – Fiscalité Canada. Le stagiaire travaillera également en partenariat avec le personnel de toute l’équipe Fiscalité et de plusieurs services des différentes unités d’affaires.

Dans ce rôle, vous serez responsable des fonctions suivantes :

  • Préparation et dépôt des déclarations de revenus canadiennes
  • Crédits d’impôt – obtention des informations auprès de différentes équipes RH et Universitaires. Importation des données dans l’outil TaxPrep pour 3 entreprises canadiennes
  • Facturation des heures mensuelles des membres de l’équipe de Fiscalité de Montréal aux unités d’affaires appropriées
  • Mise à jour de l’organigramme des entreprises canadiennes
  • Gestion et redirection de la correspondance reçue des gouvernements
  • Préparation des provisions mensuelles
  • Diverses tâches de soutien à l’équipe de gestion des risques fiscaux

Votre contribution

Pour réussir dans ce poste, le titulaire devra avoir :

  • Avoir terminé au moins une année du Baccalauréat en Administration ou en Comptabilité (ou équivalent)
  • Motivé(e), désireux d’apprendre, de se développer et être curieux
  • Bonne capacité interpersonnelle et organisationnelle
  • Capable d’être autonome et efficace dans l’établissement des priorités
  • Connaissances informatiques – Suite Microsoft
  • La connaissance de SAP est un atout
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (à l’écrit comme à l’oral) – Rio Tinto est une société mondiale; les responsabilités associées à ce poste nécessitent de collaborer quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes et des partenaires hors Québec

Internship – Winter 2025

About the role

We offer one internship of 4 months (January to April) within the Tax team in Montreal. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in different strategic teams. The candidate will be joining a group of 26 tax specialists, based at the Montreal head office location, and will report to the Advisor – Tax Canada. The trainee will also be partnering with personnel from the whole tax team and multiple departments of the different business units.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Preparation and filing of Canadian corporate tax returns
  • ‘’On the Job” tax credits – obtaining the intern information from different HR teams and schools. Importing the data in TaxPrep for 3 Canadian companies
  • Invoicing the monthly hours of the Montreal Tax team members to the appropriate business units
  • Updating the organizational chart of the Canadian companies
  • Manage and redirect the correspondence received from governments.
  • Prepare the monthly accruals
  • Various tasks to support the Tax Risk Management Team

Your Contribution

To succeed in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • Completed at least one year of Bachelor’s degree in Administration accounting (or equivalent)
  • Motivated, eager to learn, develop, and be curious
  • Good interpersonal and orgasitionnal skills
  • Capable of being autonomous and effective in setting priorities
  • Computer literate – Microsoft suite
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec

Our Montreal office is one of Rio Tinto’s headquarters and supports Canadian, American, and other global operations. It is the global headquarters of our aluminum product group, an industry leader, and supports production activities of various materials including diamonds, copper, iron, and other industrial materials. In addition to corporate relations, our Montreal office houses other functions such as procurement, human resources, information technology, and finance.
