Nous recherchons un surintendant ou une surintendante du soutien aux sites de production pour veiller à ce que tous les équipements et services dont nous avons besoin quotidiennement soient efficaces.

Relevant du ou de la chef de service, Soutien aux sites de production du Canada, vous devrez :

  • Coordonner et superviser les services de soutien pour les clients de nos établissements de Sept-Îles (Québec) et de Labrador City (Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador);
  • Fournir une visibilité de bout en bout des services de soutien aux sites de Rio Tinto d’un point de vue opérationnel;
  • Travailler en collaboration avec différentes équipes des S&TI pour veiller à ce qu’un soutien de premier niveau de l’équipement géré soit convenu et compris;
  • Contribuer à la feuille de route du soutien des sites de Rio Tinto, en recensant les considérations opérationnelles, de soutien, techniques et architecturales d’autres secteurs des S&TI et de l’entreprise;
  • Encadrer les employés et favoriser leur développement au moyen d’une approche de soutien collaborative – attribuer des responsabilités, fixer des objectifs, établir des priorités et entretenir une culture d’échange de rétroaction;
  • Superviser les problèmes critiques et hautement prioritaires afin de réduire au minimum les répercussions sur l’entreprise, notamment la relation avec les clients, les recours hiérarchiques et la gestion des incidents critiques;
  • Établir et maintenir des relations avec les principaux fournisseurs;
  • Diriger nos fournisseurs pour qu’ils répondent à nos exigences de même que repérer et mettre en œuvre des occasions de réduction des coûts;
  • Vous assurer que le risque opérationnel est bien compris et que des contrôles sont en place et maintenus pour l’atténuer ou l’éliminer;
  • Préserver la réputation en matière de service à la clientèle des S&TI des Services d’affaires mondiaux (GBS) en appliquant les ententes de niveau de service tout en maintenant une orientation continue sur l’excellence et le professionnalisme dans tous les aspects du soutien aux services;
  • Travailler avec les personnes-ressources de l’unité d’affaires afin de mieux comprendre leurs environnements d’exploitation pour assurer l’harmonisation du soutien aux services;
  • Repérer des occasions d’amélioration continue qui passent par la consultation des parties concernées et l’intégration d’activités de soutien en fonction des commentaires de la clientèle et de l’équipe;
  • Gérer les plaintes et les recours hiérarchiques en mettant l’accent sur le service;
  • Démontrer un engagement à l’égard des politiques, procédures et activités liées à la santé, à la sécurité et à l’environnement (SSE).

Rio Tinto’s internal users require various IT equipment and services in order to be as productive as possible in their daily activities. The Information Systems & Technology Site Support team helps them to do so by providing first level support for various equipment, as well as end-to-end service for computer equipment. We are looking for a Production Site Support Superintendent to ensure that the support of all of the equipment and services that we require on a daily basis is in good working order and operate in an effective and efficient manner.

This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the success of Rio Tinto by applying your skills and professional expertise to develop long-term strategies that are innovative and provide step change in a global network environment. 

Reporting to the Manager, Production Site Support Canada, you will:

  • Coordinate and oversee Site Support services for customers in our Sept-Iles, QC and Labrador City, NL operations.
  • Deliver end to end visibility of Rio Tinto’s Site Support services from an operational perspective 
  • Work collaboratively with various IS&T teams to ensure that first level support of their managed equipment and services is agreed and understood.
  • Contribute to the Site Support roadmap for Rio Tinto, bringing operational and support considerations together with technical and architectural considerations from other parts of IS&T and the broader business.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive, collaborative approach – assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and develop a culture of giving and receiving feedback.
  • Oversee critical and high priority issues to minimize impact to the business, including customer liaison, escalations and critical incident management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with our key vendor partners.
  • Lead our vendor partners to meet our requirements and identify and implement opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure operational risk is well understood and controls are in place and maintained to mitigate or eliminate. 
  • Contribute to the IS&T customer service reputation by maintaining Service Level Agreements at their expected levels while keeping an ongoing focus on excellence and professionalism in all aspects of service support.
  • Work with key contacts at the Business Unit level in order to gain a better understanding of their operating environments to ensure Service Support alignment.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for consulting/embedding support delivery based on customer and team feedback.
  • Managing complaints and escalations in a service-oriented manner.
  • Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and activities.

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A strong safety mindset
  • Bilingual (Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.)
  • Experience working on an Operations team
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • A successful track record of vendor and contract management
  • Experience with coordination of resources
  • A broad understanding of IT equipment and systems
