L’occasion

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un conseiller principal en approvisionnement – Équipement fixe  pour soutenir la mise en œuvre de la stratégie globale dans cette catégorie, l’approvisionnement, les projets aux programmes régionaux de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs. Le candidat retenu mettra en œuvre, supervisera et administrera les contrats locaux en plus de gérer les relations avec les fournisseurs et l’exécution de leurs travaux. Il contribuera par ailleurs à la livraison d’une valeur soutenue et d’un avantage concurrentiel pour Rio Tinto et ses unités d’affaire de la région atlantique.
 
Le Service des approvisionnements de Rio Tinto (ART) offre des services liés à la chaîne d’approvisionnement qui livrent une valeur au groupe Rio Tinto au moyen de la localisation des sources d’approvisionnement stratégiques et de l’achat de biens et de services pour toutes les activités et les entreprises. Le titulaire jouera un rôle fondamental en créant de la valeur pour le Groupe grâce à des processus uniformisés, la cybertechnologie, un repli sur la responsabilité sociale et des économies mesurables.
 
Le poste

Ce poste est une formidable occasion pour un professionnel de l’approvisionnement motivé de fournir des conseils relativement au portefeuille d’équipement fixe de l’usine dans la région de l’Amérique du Nord, en travaillant en collaboration avec les collègues installés à l’échelle internationale. Le portefeuille comprend les catégories de l’équipement électrique et de l’équipement de manutention et de traitement des matériaux. Relevant du directeur régional — Équipement minier (région atlantique), le titulaire du poste devra s’acquitter des fonctions suivantes :

  • dresser un profil de l’information commerciale dans la région atlantique;
  • recueillir et examiner les exigences opérationnelles et liées aux projets dans la région atlantique et aider à l’élaboration des stratégies relatives aux catégories;
  • faire des présentations aux cadres supérieurs aux fins d’approbation;
  • élaborer et peaufiner un programme d’activités (projets capitaux et d’optimisation);
  • assumer la responsabilité d’une équipe de spécialistes qui mènent des activités de localisation des sources d’approvisionnement, de présentation de soumissions et de négociation et qui mettent en place des contrats
  • s’assurer que des méthodologies de mise en œuvre de projets et des processus de gestion rigoureux sont déployés et que celles-ci soient exécutées conformément aux exigences du ART en matière de processus, de documentation, de saisie de la valeur et de gouvernance;
  • sous la supervision du directeur général – Équipement minier (région atlantique), assurer la mise en œuvre des éléments régionaux du programme de relations avec les fournisseurs globaux

Exigences du poste

Pour réussir, le titulaire doit posséder ce qui suit :

  • un baccalauréat ou une expérience équivalente en localisation des sources d'approvisionnement;
  • un minimum de 10 ans d'expérience pertinente en approvisionnement
  • ne connaissance des opérations et de l’équipement miniers ainsi qu’une capacité et une volonté de continuer à se former;
  • un sens aigu des affaires commerciales et une expertise en négociation ainsi qu’une capacité à remettre en question les spécifications techniques;
  • des compétences organisationnelles et personnelles efficaces, notamment en gestion du temps;
  • une excellente capacité en résolution de problèmes et en analyse stratégique;
  • une capacité à comprendre les besoins des pairs, des clients et des fournisseurs grâce à une méthode efficace d’interrogation et d’écoute;
  • une capacité à livrer des résultats grâce à la gestion des intervenants, aux compétences en matière d’influence et à la collaboration;
  • Maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes ou des partenaires basés à l’extérieur du Québec.

The Opportunity
 
We are looking for a Procurement Principal Advisor – Fixed Plant Equipment to support the execution of the global category strategy, its sourcing, project plans and Supplier Relationship Management Regional programs. Implement, supervise, and administer local contracts as well as manage supplier execution and relationship. Contribute to the delivery of sustained value and competitive advantage to the Rio Tinto Group and the Atlantic operating business.
 
Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP) provides supply chain services that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through the strategic sourcing and buying of goods and services for all operations and businesses. Playing a fundamental role, value is achieved through uniformed processes, e-technology, increased corporate social responsibility and measurable savings for the Group.
 
What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated procurement professional to advise on the fixed plant portfolio within the North American region, in connection with globally-based colleagues. The portfolio includes the Electrical and the Material Handling & Process equipment categories. Reporting to the Regional Manager – Mining Equipment (Atlantic), you will be:

  • Profiling Atlantic market intelligence and spend
  • Gathering and reviewing Atlantic Projects and business requirements and assisting in developing category strategies
  • Presenting to senior Leadership for endorsement
  • Developing/refining program of activities (capital and optimization projects)
  • Held accountable for a team of specialists that conduct sourcing, bidding, negotiation activity and finalize contracts
  • Ensuring sound management processes and project implementation methodologies are deployed and implementation is completed in accordance with the RTP’s process, documentation, value-capturing, and governance requirement
  • Drawing guidance from the Regional Manager – Mining Equipment (Atlantic) to conduct the regional elements of Global Supplier relationship programs

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent sourcing work experience
  • 10+years of strong Procurement experience
  • Knowledge of mining equipment and mining operations combined with the ability and desire to continue to build on this knowledge
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise coupled with the ability to challenge technical specifications
  • Effective time management and personal organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic and analytical capability
  • Ability to understand needs of peers, customers and suppliers through effective questioning and listening
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through stakeholder management, influencing and collaboration with others
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
