Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Conseiller(ère) principal, Sécurité des Procédés dont le rôle sera de supporter au quotidien les sites de production du groupe Minéraux pour la mise en œuvre, le coaching et le suivi de l’état de santé du standard de Sécurité des Procédés, incluant la sécurité fonctionnelle, dans nos opérations. Le titulaire du poste relèvera directement de la Directrice Générale, Technique.

Ce poste constitue une excellente occasion de faire partie d’une équipe multidisciplinaire puisque le périmètre inclus tous les procédés de la mine aux produits finis, passant par le prétraitement du minerai, la coulée, la purification, les poudres métalliques, incluant des minéraux critiques tel que le scandium et le lithium.

Vous serez responsable de :

  • Assurer/coordonner/assister au déploiement du standard de Sécurité des Procédés et fonctionnelle (procédé, machine et véhicule autonome) sur le périmètre des Opération du groupe Minéraux.

  • Conseiller/guider/apporter les ajustements permettant de garantir la meilleure application de la gestion de la Sécurité Opérationnelle dans les opérations quotidiennes et l’amélioration de la culture.

  • Établir les processus de gestion du standard, bâtir les plans d’action d’implantation et former les équipes de sites en Sécurité des procédés.

  • Travailler en collaboration avec le conseiller Minéraux et l’équipe d’experts en sécurité des procédés Minéraux afin de standardiser et déployer rapidement les meilleures pratiques.

  • Coordonner le réseau de praticiens des sites (10) en sécurité opérationnelle et fonctionnelle

  • Assurer le reporting des indicateurs clés des sites sur d’état de santé de la sécurité des procédés au Comité de Direction des sites en support.

  • Développer, en collaboration avec les sites de Minéraux, un plan d’implantation du standard de sécurité fonctionnelle.

  • Assuré le lien avec les groupes centraux de sécurité des procédés et de la sécurité fonctionnelle.

Votre contribution 

  • Engagement envers votre sécurité et celle de votre équipe.

  • Bacalauréat dans domaine pertinent (e.g., génie chimique / des procédés / mécanique / industriel / électrique)

  • Expérience en génie préalables et une compréhension approfondie des bonnes pratiques d'ingénierie et des codes et normes internationaux pour la conception sécurisée des installations, pertinents pour le pays d'opération.

  • Solide expérience opérationnelle dans une installation ou une industrie à risque majeur, en utilisant des processus reconnus ou réglementations telles que CSA Z767, l'OSHA PSM, le CCPS ou l'Energy Institute.

  • Formation formelle et expérience en gestion de la sécurité opérationnel dans le cadre de projet

  • Maîtrise démontrée des techniques d'analyse des dangers des processus (HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, ALARP, LOPA) et modélisation des conséquences. Expérience en direction d'enquêtes sur des événements d'incident importants.

  • Expérience en leadership dans la sécurité des processus, les opérations, le contrôle des processus ou des rôles techniques / d'ingénierie en industries lourdes. Compétences à faciliter des réunions ou groupe de travail et influencer les décisions stratégiques, et transformer des stratégies en solutions pratiques pour accroître la productivité.

  • Maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes ou des partenaires basés à l’extérieur du Québec.

  • Capacité de voyager régulièrement pour aller sur site au Canada et à l'international (20 à 30% voyagement)

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal advisor, Process Safety, who will be supporting the daily operations of the Minerals production sites in implementing, coaching, and monitoring the health status of the Process Safety standard, including functional safety, in our operations. The position holder will report directly to the General Manager, Technical.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team, as it encompasses all processes from mining to finished products, including ore pre-treatment, casting, purification, metal powders, and critical minerals such as scandium and lithium.           
 

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring/coordinating/assisting in the deployment of the Process Safety and functional standard (process, machinery, and autonomous vehicles) across the Minerals Group operations perimeter.

  • Advising/guiding/making adjustments to ensure the best application of Operational Safety management in daily operations and culture improvement.

  • Establishing standard management processes, developing implementation action plans, and training site teams in Process Safety.

  • Working in collaboration with the Minerals advisor and the Minerals process safety expert team to standardize and rapidly deploy best practices.

  • Coordinating the network of site practitioners (10) in operational and functional safety.

  • Reporting key site safety process health indicators to the site Management Committee for support.

  • Developing, in collaboration with Minerals sites, an implementation plan for the functional safety standard.

  • Liaising with central process safety and functional safety groups.

What you’ll bring

  • Commitment to your safety and that of your team.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field: chemical/process/mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering.

  • Previous engineering experience and a thorough understanding of engineering best practices and international codes and standards for secure facility design relevant to the operational country.

  • Solid operational experience in a high-risk facility or industry, using recognized processes or regulations such as CSA Z767, OSHA PSM, CCPS, or the Energy Institute.

  • Formal training and experience in operational safety management within the project framework.

  • Demonstrated mastery of process hazard analysis techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, ALARP, LOPA) and consequence modeling. Experience leading investigations into significant incident events.          

  • Leadership experience in process safety, operations, process control, or technical/engineering roles in heavy industries. Skills to facilitate meetings or working groups, influence strategic decisions, and translate strategies into practical solutions to increase productivity. 

  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and English. Rio Tinto is a global company, and the functions of this role require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams, or partners based outside Quebec.         

  • Ability to travel regularly to sites in Canada and abroad (20 to 30% travels required)
