En tant que chef de l’équipe, Gestion des catégories – Services de forage et consommables, vous jouerez un rôle essentiel en contribuant aux projets visant à obtenir des contrats commercialement avantageux et à maximiser la valeur des unités d’affaires de Rio Tinto. Vous contribuerez de façon importante à l’acquisition de connaissances dans le domaine et l’analyse de marché, afin de déterminer les sources et les facteurs de création de valeur par l’entremise des achats.

Principales responsabilités

Participer activement à la transformation de l’équipe dans sa recherche de l’excellence en approvisionnement.
Dans le cadre de vos fonctions, vous aurez les responsabilités suivantes :

  • Recueillir et analyser les connaissances du domaine et les données du marché afin de favoriser la création de valeur par l’entremise des achats, en supervisant éventuellement des stagiaires, des personnes diplômées et des analystes.
  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies de catégorie à différents niveaux, tirer parti des synergies entre les diverses unités d’affaires, gérer des projets stratégiques et complexes et les présenter aux hauts dirigeants de Rio Tinto aux fins d’approbation.
  • Jouer un rôle clé dans l’établissement de relations avec les parties prenantes, tant en interne qu’à l’externe, tout au long de l’exécution et de la mise en œuvre du projet de sourçage.
  • Gérer l’exécution des contrats, leur mise en œuvre et la revue des fournisseurs pour les contrats ou projets attribués, en veillant au bon déroulement et à l’efficacité des processus de gestion des contrats, ainsi qu’en optimisant la performance financière, opérationnelle et en matière de santé et de sécurité.
  • Veiller au respect des valeurs, des politiques, des normes et des processus de Rio Tinto.

    Votre contribution

  • Au moins 10 ans d’expérience en matière d’approvisionnement stratégique, idéalement au sein de multinationales dans les secteurs de l’exploitation minière, des services, de l’aérospatiale ou de l’automobile.
  • Fortes compétences analytiques : aptitude à recueillir et à analyser efficacement les données du marché et solide feuille de route dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de stratégies de catégorie.
  • Compétences en matière de communication : fortes compétences en matière de communication écrite et orale et de gestion des parties prenantes.
  • Ouverture d’esprit et transparence dans les relations, capacité à établir un haut niveau de confiance et à travailler dans un environnement matriciel.
  • Capacité à obtenir des résultats en contexte de partenariats ou de collaboration et à exercer une influence positive.
  • Expérience en gestion de projets et en résolution de problèmes : capacité avérée à jongler avec plusieurs projets et à fournir des résultats dans les délais impartis.
  • Autonomie et initiative.
  • Compréhension de la gestion stratégique des catégories et des processus de gestion des fournisseurs.

As a Team Lead, Category Management Drilling Services & Consumables, you will play a vital role in assisting projects aimed at delivering commercially favourable contracts and maximizing value for the Rio Tinto Business Units. You'll be instrumental in gathering domain knowledge and market analysis to identify sources and drivers of value creation through purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

Actively participate in the team’s transformation towards excellence in strategic procurement.
In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Gathering and analyzing domain knowledge and market data to drive value creation through purchasing, eventually overseeing interns, graduates and analysts.
  • Developing and executing category strategies across various levels, leveraging synergies between different business units, managing strategic and complex projects, presenting them to senior Rio Tinto leaders for approval.
  • Playing a key role in fostering stakeholder relationships both internally and externally throughout sourcing project delivery and implementation.
  • Managing contract execution, implementation, and supplier reviews for assigned contracts or projects, ensuring smooth and effective contract management processes, optimizing financial, operational, and health and safety performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto’s values, policies, standards, and processes.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally within multinational companies in the mining, services, aerospace manufacturing, or automotive sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills: proficiency in gathering and analyzing market data effectively with a demonstrated track record in developing and implementing category strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management abilities,
  • Open-mindedness and transparency in relationships, with the ability to gain a high level of trust and work in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to achieve results through partnerships, collaboration, and positive influence.
  • Project Management and Problem-Solving experience: Showcasing a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and consistently deliver results within designated timelines.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Understanding of strategic category management and supplier management processes.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside of Quebec.
