About the role
Finding better ways to provide the material the world needs
We are looking for a Network Engineer team member to support and maintain the existing IT and OT network infrastructure for the Yarwun Operations. With this opportunity you will be completing in-field installations, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of service requests / incidents. You will gain exposure to and working with our Global IS&T teams. Enforcing and complying with IS&T standard. Creating, updating and documenting the existing infrastructure. This plant operates on a 24×7 basis. Reporting to the RTA IS&T Superintendent Yarwun and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will be:

Providing technical support and management of Cisco LAN, WLAN, VOICE

Designing and implementing new network solutions ensuring best practices are adhered to as per Rio Tinto cyber and network architecture standards.

Maximising network performance by performing problem management, upgrades and collaborating with enterprise network engineers & architects on network optimisation and technologies

Maintaining network infrastructure to protect site from vulnerabilities and intrusions
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
-
Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

Be capable of physically installing, removing patching and tracing of network infrastructure equipment
-
Working in a close-knit team
-
3- 5 years’ experience as a network engineer
-
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certified of higher
-
Proven working experience with Cisco networking devices, in particular in routing, switching and firewalls (Proven experience with the physical installation and configuration of Cisco Routers, Switches, WLC’s and firewalls)
-
Experience with the use and configuration of SolarWinds, TACACS, DHCP Scopes
-
Experience with routing protocols in large organisational networks
It will also be beneficial if you have:
-
A Tertiary Degree in Networking, Computer Engineering or related course
-
Advanced level of Cisco Certification that displays expertise for network design, implementation, operations and troubleshooting (CCNP certification is highly desirable)
-
Cisco Wireless and or Collaboration certification and experience desirable
-
Experience within large enterprise data communications networks
-
Microsoft Server experience or exposure
