Nous recherchons trois spécialistes régionaux de catégorie – Afrique (services industriels, services d’ingénierie et produits chimiques de procédé) pour notre équipe Approvisionnement – Atlantique basée à Montréal, au Québec. Les spécialistes de catégorie soutiendront principalement les unités d’affaires de Rio Tinto situées en Afrique (Afrique du Sud et Madagascar) et seront responsables de l’élaboration, de l’exécution et de la gestion des stratégies de catégorie, de la gestion des contrats et de l’établissement d’un robuste système de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs.

Ces postes offrent aux professionnels de l’approvisionnement une excellente occasion de diriger des projets de sourçage international, de contribuer à l’exécution de contrats commercialement avantageux et d’offrir une valeur optimale à Rio Tinto et à ses partenaires.

Responsabilités

  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre une stratégie régionale complète de gestion des catégories et des ententes commerciales pour réduire au minimum le coût total de possession et maximiser la valeur.
  • Intégrer la sécurité dans les processus de contrat et d’approvisionnement afin de respecter et de dépasser les normes de sécurité de Rio Tinto.
  • Agir comme partenaire stratégique auprès des établissements de Rio Tinto en Afrique, afin de garantir la qualité du service et la performance des fournisseurs stratégiques attribués aux titulaires du poste. Collaborer étroitement avec les parties prenantes internes, les fournisseurs et les partenaires externes pour assurer la réussite des stratégies d’approvisionnement.
  • Exploiter les synergies entre les équipes et les unités d’affaires d’Afrique et d’Amérique du Nord.
  • Consolider la collecte des données internes et établir une base factuelle rigoureuse fondée sur la dynamique externe et les analyses de marché pour orienter la stratégie de catégorie et les programmes de sourçage. Établir et gérer des bases de données personnalisées sur les fournisseurs.
  • Diriger des projets de sourçage stratégiques ou complexes, élaborer et valider des plans de négociation et mener les négociations.
  • Gérer les contrats et mettre en place une structure robuste de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs pour renforcer les partenariats et la création de valeur.
  • Contribuer à optimiser les processus en trouvant des façons d’améliorer les opérations d’approvisionnement et le rapport coût-efficacité.
  • S’assurer que tous les projets sont conformes aux politiques, aux normes et aux directives de l’Approvisionnement et du Groupe Rio Tinto, et qu’ils répondent aux exigences de l’approvisionnement et des opérations.
  • Établir des relations ouvertes et transparentes basées sur des niveaux élevés de confiance et travailler efficacement dans un environnement matriciel.

Votre contribution

Pour que votre candidature soit prise en considération, vous devrez posséder les attributs suivants :

  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires ou en ingénierie
  • Au moins six ans d’expérience éprouvée dans la gestion des catégories d’approvisionnement et de la chaîne d’approvisionnement; de l’expérience en Afrique est un atout
  • Expérience au sein d’entreprises multinationales
  • Ouverture d’esprit et transparence dans les relations interpersonnelles et sensibilité aux réalités culturelles
  • Solide sens des affaires et capacités éprouvées en matière de gestion des catégories et des contrats
  • Bonne connaissance des processus et des principes de la chaîne d’approvisionnement
  • Application des règles de la SSE (santé, sécurité et environnement) dans les catégories attribuées au poste
  • Solides compétences en gestion de projets, en résolution de problèmes et en gestion des relations avec les clients et les fournisseurs
  • Capacité à obtenir des résultats en misant sur les partenariats et la collaboration, en tenant compte des intérêts des diverses parties prenantes et en exerçant une influence positive
  • Bonne gestion du temps pour jongler avec de multiples priorités concurrentes
  • Bonne connaissance des logiciels d’approvisionnement comme Ariba, SAP et Power BI
  • Solides capacités d’analyse et aptitude à rassembler et à compiler des données, à utiliser des feuilles de calcul et des tableaux croisés dynamiques ainsi qu’à modéliser des données et à analyser des scénarios
  • Excellentes compétences en communication verbale et écrite avec les parties prenantes internes et externes
  • Flexibilité à l’égard des heures de travail pour tenir compte des différents fuseaux horaires, les appels occasionnels ayant lieu tôt le matin dès 5 h
  • Disponibilité pour effectuer des déplacements occasionnels à l’étranger
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (à l’écrit comme à l’oral). Rio Tinto est une société mondiale; les responsabilités associées à ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidienne avec des collègues, des équipes et des partenaires de l’extérieur du Québec.

About the Role

Finding Better Ways to Provide the Materials the World Needs

We are seeking three Regional Category Specialists – Africa (industrial services, engineering services and process chemicals) for our Atlantic procurement organization based in Montreal, QC. The Category Specialists will primarily support Rio Tinto business units in Africa (South Africa & Madagascar) and will be responsible for developing, executing and managing category strategies, managing contracts, and establishing a robust supplier relationship management system.

This role offers a great opportunity for a procurement professional to lead international sourcing projects, contributing to the delivery of commercially favorable contracts and optimal value for Rio Tinto and its partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive regional category management strategy and commercial agreements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value.
  • Integrate safety into contract and procurement processes to meet and exceed Rio Tinto safety standards.
  • Act as a strategic partner for Rio Tinto sites in Africa, ensuring service quality and performance of assigned strategic suppliers. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to drive the success of procurement strategies.
  • Leverage synergies with North American teams and Business Units.
  • Consolidate internal data collection and generate a rigorous fact base based on external dynamics and market analysis to inform category strategy and sourcing programs. Develop and maintain customized supplier databases.
  • Lead key or complex sourcing projects, build and validate negotiation plans and lead negotiations.
  • Manage contracts and implement a strong supplier relationship management structure to enhance partnerships and value creation.
  • Contribute to process optimization, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance procurement operations and cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure all projects comply with Rio Tinto Procurement and Group Policies, Standards, and Guidelines and are aligned with procurement and operational requirements.
  • Foster open and transparent relationships, developing high levels of trust and working effectively in a matrix environment.

What You’ll Bring

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of proven experience in category management in procurement and supply chain. Experience in Africa is an asset.
  • Experience with multinational companies.
  • Open-mindedness and transparency in interpersonal relations, cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven category and contract management capabilities.
  • An understanding of supply chain management processes and principles.
  • Focus on HSE in the categories assigned.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and customer/supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through partnership, collaboration, coordination of diverse stakeholder interests and positive influence.
  • Effective time management skills to balance multiple and competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with procurement software such as Ariba, SAP, and Power BI
  • Strong analytical capability, collect and compile data, use of spreadsheets, pivot tables, modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate different time zones, with occasional early morning calls starting at 5am.
  • Availability for occasional international travel
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
