Nous sommes à la recherche d’un ou d’une chef de service, Bureau de gestion de projet (PMO), Gestion des actifs, qui dirigera le PMO afin d’assurer la gouvernance efficace, la planification stratégique et l’exécution fructueuse des projets de gestion des actifs de Rio Tinto à l’échelle des groupes Minerai de fer, Aluminium, Cuivre et Minéraux de l’entreprise.

Il s’agit d’une excellente occasion de rehausser l’efficience et la performance des projets, tout en faisant la promotion d’une culture d’amélioration continue. La personne titulaire du poste veillera à ce que les projets soient alignés sur la stratégie de gestion des actifs de Rio Tinto, livrés à temps et dans le respect du budget, et conformes à des normes cohérentes en matière de gestion de projet.

Relevant du directeur ou de la directrice, Gestion des actifs du Groupe, vous aurez les responsabilités suivantes :

  • Gouvernance et normes : Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des normes, des processus et des cadres de gouvernance en matière de gestion de projet afin d’assurer l’uniformité et l’efficience de tous les projets de gestion des actifs.

  • Planification et alignement stratégiques : Collaborer avec le directeur ou la directrice, Gestion des actifs du Groupe, pour arrimer le portefeuille de projets aux objectifs stratégiques. Établir et gérer une feuille de route des projets appuyant les objectifs à long terme de Rio Tinto sur le plan de la gestion des actifs.

  • Supervision et soutien des projets : Jouer un rôle de supervision et de soutien auprès des chefs et équipes de projet, en veillant à ce que chaque projet demeure sur la bonne voie, à ce que les risques soient gérés et à ce que les problèmes soient résolus efficacement.

  • Suivi de la performance et rapports connexes : Établir des indicateurs clés de performance (ICP) pour les projets et fournir des rapports d’étape réguliers à la haute direction. Utiliser des analyses fondées sur des données pour prendre des décisions éclairées et formuler des recommandations.

  • Engagement auprès des sites : Prendre le temps de visiter les sites opérationnels afin d’observer l’exécution des projets, d’échanger avec les équipes sur place et de recueillir de la rétroaction. En outre, collaborer avec les autres équipes et fonctions centrales. Exemples d’activités :

    • Comprendre comment les projets influent sur les activités quotidiennes et les pratiques de gestion des actifs.

    • Collecter des renseignements sur les défis et les occasions qui se présentent lors de la mise en œuvre des projets.

    • Collaborer à des solutions qui sont en accord avec les objectifs stratégiques.

    • Cerner des occasions d’alignement stratégique.

  • Gestion des ressources : Optimiser l’affectation des ressources pour assurer une utilisation efficiente des effectifs, des budgets et des technologies. Gérer les dépendances et prioriser les projets en fonction de leurs retombées commerciales.

  • Gestion des risques : Repérer les risques dans le portefeuille de projets et les atténuer, en mettant en œuvre des mesures proactives visant à réduire au minimum les éventuels problèmes.

  • Amélioration continue : Promouvoir une culture d’amélioration continue en ciblant toute occasion de rehausser les processus et outils de gestion de projet.

Votre contribution

  • Profonde compréhension des méthodes de gestion de projet (p. ex., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

  • Bonne connaissance des principes et des pratiques de gestion des actifs ou capacité à acquérir rapidement des connaissances à ce sujet.

  • Solides compétences organisationnelles et en matière de gestion de projet, et connaissance des logiciels de gestion de projet et des outils de suivi de la performance.

  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs projets et à déterminer efficacement les priorités.

  • Excellentes aptitudes en matière de communication et d’engagement des parties prenantes.

  • Maîtrise de la gestion des risques et de l’optimisation des ressources.

  • Capacités d’analyse et de réflexion stratégique.

About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs

We are looking for a PMO Manager – Asset Management to lead the Project Management Office and ensures effective governance, strategic planning, and successful execution of Rio Tinto Asset Management projects across Rio Tinto’s portfolio of Iron Ore, Aluminium, Copper and Minerals operations.

This is a great opportunity to drive efficiency and project performance while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. This role ensures that projects align with Rio Tinto’s asset management strategy, are delivered on time and within budget, and adhere to consistent project management standards.

Reporting to the Group Head of Asset Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Governance and Standards: Develop and implement project management standards, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and efficiency across all asset management projects.

  • Strategic Planning and Alignment: Collaborate with the Group Head of Asset Management to align the project portfolio with strategic objectives. Develop and manage a project roadmap that supports Rio Tinto’s long-term asset management goals.

  • Project Oversight and Support: Provide oversight and support for project managers and teams, ensuring projects remain on track, risks are managed, and issues are resolved effectively.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects and deliver regular status reports to senior leadership. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations.

  • Asset Engagement: Dedicate time to visiting operational sites to observe project execution, engage with site teams, and gather feedback. In addition, collaborate with other central teams and functions. Activities include:

    • Understanding how projects impact daily operations and asset management practices.

    • Gathering insights on challenges and opportunities faced during project implementation.

    • Collaborating on solutions that align with strategic goals.

    • Determine opportunities for strategic alignment.

  • Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient use of people, budgets, and technology. Manage dependencies and prioritize projects based on business impact.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks across the project portfolio, implementing proactive measures to minimize potential issues.

  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project management processes and tools.

What you’ll bring

  • In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

  • Familiarity or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the asset management principles and practices.

  • Possessing strong project management and organizational skills, along with knowledge of project management software and performance tracking tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

  • Proficiency in risk management and resource optimization.

  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
