Nous sommes à la recherche d’un ou d’une spécialiste de l’approvisionnement, Matières premières pour soutenir la catégorie des réfractaires et du fluorure. Notre équipe fait partie du service d’approvisionnement mondial, situé à notre bureau de Montréal.

Le ou la spécialiste de l’approvisionnement devra soutenir le gestionnaire de catégorie dans l’élaboration de stratégies de catégorie et exécuter le plan d’approvisionnement décrit dans la stratégie. Ses activités principales incluent les revues périodiques effectuées avec les principales parties prenantes internes, les mises à jour et les ajustements apportés à la stratégie de catégorie et au plan d’approvisionnement, la rédaction et l’exécution des contrats, les négociations commerciales, la gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs et la gestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement.

Ce poste est pour un ou une spécialiste de l’approvisionnement une excellente occasion de développer et d’exécuter des projets régionaux d’approvisionnement qui contribuent à procurer des résultats commerciaux favorables et une valeur optimale à l’unité d’affaires de Rio Tinto.

Votre contribution :

  • Prendre en charge l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre d’une stratégie complète de gestion des catégories et la rédaction de contrats d’approvisionnement afin de réduire au minimum le coût total de propriété et de maximiser la valeur, qui constituera un avantage concurrentiel et répondra aux exigences de Rio Tinto en matière de gouvernance.
  • Exécuter les stratégies commerciales et les plans d’approvisionnement, ce qui inclut la direction de projets d’approvisionnement et de négociations clés ou complexes ainsi que la gestion continue des contrats et des relations avec les fournisseurs.
  • Regrouper les demandes et les exigences des clients internes et les tendances de consommation qui serviront de base à l’élaboration d’une stratégie de catégorie et aux programmes d’approvisionnement connexes.
  • Élaborer une rigoureuse analyse factuelle de la dynamique du marché qui servira de base à la stratégie de catégorie et au programme d’approvisionnement, en particulier grâce à une analyse approfondie du marché.
  • Se charger d’établir et de faire approuver le plan de négociation avec le fournisseur et être en mesure d’offrir soutien et direction pendant les négociations.
  • Mener des projets de productivité conjointement avec les parties prenantes et les fournisseurs clés.
  • Veiller à ce que tous les projets soient livrés par le truchement du réseau Ariba ou d’une autre plateforme logicielle pour s’assurer qu’ils respectent les exigences décrites dans les politiques, les normes et les directives de l’approvisionnement et du Groupe Rio Tinto.
  • Préparer les rapports mensuels, trimestriels, annuels et ponctuels requis par les parties prenantes internes.

Votre contribution

  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires ou dans une discipline équivalente
  • Au moins cinq ans d’expérience dans le secteur commercial, l’approvisionnement et/ou la chaîne d’approvisionnement et capacité éprouvée à obtenir des résultats
  • Excellent flair commercial et capacités éprouvées en gestion des catégories et des contrats
  • Solides compétences en gestion de projets, en résolution de problèmes et en gestion des relations avec les clients
  • Capacité à obtenir des résultats en influençant d’autres personnes et en collaborant avec elles
  • Connaissance approfondie des feuilles de calcul Excel (capacité à créer des outils de gestion, comme des outils de modélisation et d’analyse de scénarios)
  • Capacité à communiquer de manière succincte, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit, avec les parties prenantes internes et externes
  • Capacité à travailler sans supervision et à faire preuve d’initiative
  • Capacité à lire des dessins techniques, un atout

About the role 

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. 

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist – Raw Materials to support the category of refractories and fluoride. Our team is part of the global procurement organization, based in our Montreal office.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible to support the Category Manager in the development of category strategies and to execute the sourcing plan outlined in the strategy. Main activities include regular reviews with key internal stakeholders, updates and adjustments to the Category Strategy and Sourcing Plan, contract drafting and execution, commercial negotiations, supplier relationship management and supply chain management.

This role is a great opportunity for a Procurement Specialist professional to develop and execute regional sourcing projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable outcomes and optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit.

You will:

  • Own the development and implementation of a comprehensive Category Management strategy and the development of Supply Agreements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value that will drive competitive advantage and meet Rio Tinto governance requirements
  • Execute Commercial Strategies and Sourcing plans.  This will include leading key or complex sourcing projects/negotiations and ongoing management of contracts and supplier relationships
  • Consolidate internal customers' demand requirements and consumption trends that will be the basis for category strategy development and related sourcing programs
  • Develop a rigorous fact base analysis to capture external market dynamics that will be the basis of the category strategy and sourcing program, specifically through in-depth market analysis
  • Be responsible for building the supplier negotiation plans for approval and be able to support and lead during negotiations
  • Drive productivity projects in conjunction with the key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ensure all projects are delivered using Ariba and other software platform to ensure they meet the requirements outlined in Rio Tinto Procurement and Group Policies, Standards and Guidelines
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports required by internal stakeholders

What you’ll bring 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, or equivalent discipline;
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial, procurement and/or supply chain experience with proven results delivery;
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven category and contract management capabilities;
  • Strong project management, problem solving and customer relationship management skills;
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through influencing and collaboration with others;
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills (able to create management tools such as modelling and scenario analysis etc.);
  • Ability to communicate succinctly verbally and in written form with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • An ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter;
  • Ability to read a technical drawing is an asset
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec
