Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Conseiller(ère) Principal(e) d'affaires qui travaillera en partenariat et collaborera avec les différentes groupes opérationnels et fonctions (approvisionnement interne, commercial, légale…) de l’entreprise pour définir les stratégies de croissance et assurer des examens fonctionnels, une amélioration continue, des parcours stratégiques et la gestion des activités dans l’ensemble des équipes à l’appui de l’incidence sur la valeur.

Le/La Conseiller(ère) Principal(e) occupe une fonction stratégique à Rio Tinto Atlantique – groupe de la croissance et du développement opérationnel, dont la mission est d’appuyer des projets concurrentiels à moyen et à long terme qui favorisent un changement inévitable et des décisions complexes. Ce groupe présente une analyse holistique permettant de délimiter la portée du changement sous forme d’objectifs stratégiques d’affaires, ainsi que ses décisions ayant incidence sur notre état futur.

Relevant de la Directrice, Croissance et Développement Opérationnel, vous ferez partie d’une équipe diversifiée et travaillerez directement avec les sites opérationnels du groupe Aluminium de Rio Tinto. Vous exécuterez les tâches suivantes :

  • Supporter les activités de RTA Atlantique pour assurer une intégration et une exécution holistique du programme stratégique, pour définir et atteindre son état futur;

  • Grande conscience financière, commerciale et technique, présentation structurée, aptitudes interpersonnelles, enthousiasme, détermination et conviction;

  • Mener des analyses stratégique complète moyen et long terme autant qualitative que quantitative (rentabilités, marché, impact opérationnels et communautés,..) 

  • Diriger les phases d'études de projets stratégiques afin de  rencontrer les objectifs de l'organisation

  • Jouez un rôle clé dans le programme opérationnel en prenant des décisions d'affaires ayant des répercussions significatives;

  • Réagir rapidement pour respecter des délais serrés, tout en favorisant et en créant des occasions à plus long terme;

  • S’assurer que la bonne équipe et la bonne direction sont en place, et que les rôles sont clairs en ce qui a trait aux projets afin d’atteindre les meilleurs résultats;

  • Opérationnaliser les activités de croissance et les présenter aux gouvernances financières;

  • Évaluer les risques et identifier les opportunités globaux des stratégies / projets du portefeuille;

  • Comprendre l'impact de chaque initiative sur les résultats opérationnels; 

  • Assurer une approche pragmatique et objectivité des activités de l'organisation afin de permettre une prise de décisions éclairée;

  • Favoriser une croissance mesurable et aligner les décisions avec la stratégie d'affaires pour une intégration optimale.

À propos de vous

Pour que votre candidature soit considérée à ce poste, vous devrez remplir les exigences suivantes :

  • 10 à 15 années d’expérience ayant trait à l’amélioration des secteurs commercial, opérationnel et/ou d’affaires;

  • Diplôme en administration des affaires, en génie ou en gestion et bilan éprouvé dans la production de résultats et la capacité à livrer des résultats;

  • Excellente compréhension et grande expérience du travail de bout en bout, de l’amélioration des processus opérationnels, de la technologie et des points d’intégration;

  • Expérience en animation d’ateliers pour amener des équipes; interfonctionnelles à comprendre l’arbitrage d’affaires complexe et à convenir de solutions à long terme;

  • Expérience de la mobilisation et de l’accompagnement d’intervenants clés, jusqu’au niveau des dirigeants séniors, quant à la prestation de projets stratégiques;

  • Capacité de fonctionner de manière autonome et de gérer sa charge de travail à l’aide d’un soutien à distance;

  • Comportements essentiels à la réussite : sens aigu des affaires, et capacité de prendre du recul;

  • Grande conscience financière, commerciale et technique; compétences exceptionnelles en communication (écrite et orale); présentation structurée; aptitudes interpersonnelles; enthousiasme, détermination et conviction;

  • Maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes ou des partenaires basés à l’extérieur du Québec

We are looking for a Senior Business Advisor to partner and collaborate across internal functions of the business, to drive business reviews, continuous improvement, strategy pathways and operations management across the teams to support value impact. 

The Senior Business Advisor is the strategic function within the Rio Tinto Atlantic – Growth & Operational Development (G&OD) group, whose mission is to support mid & long-term competitive projects that foster inevitable change and complex decisions. G&OD provides a holistic assessment to delineate scope of change into business strategic goals and its decisions impacting our future state.

Here is an excellent opportunity for a passionate leader to bring people together to implement, lead, and effectively manage large-scale changes within an energetic team, offering great collaboration opportunities. You will join a group where teamwork dynamics are paramount, providing an exceptional platform for growth potential and learning.

Reporting to the Director, Growth and Operational Development, you will be part of a diverse team and work directly with Rio Tinto Aluminium's operational sites. You will execute the following tasks:

  • Support the activities of RTA Atlantic to ensure a holistic integration and execution of the strategic program, to define and reach its future state;

  • Strong financial, commercial, and technical awareness, structured presentation, interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, determination, and conviction;

  • Conduct comprehensive medium and long-term strategic analyses, both qualitative and quantitative (profitability, market, operational and community impacts, etc.);

  • Lead the study phases of strategic projects to meet the organization's objectives.

  • Play a key role in the operational program by making business decisions with significant impacts;

  • React quickly to meet tight deadlines, while fostering and creating longer-term opportunities;

  • Ensure the right team and direction are in place, and that roles are clear regarding projects to achieve the best results;

  • Operationalize growth activities and present them to financial governance bodies;

  • Evaluate risks and identify global opportunities in the strategies/projects portfolio;

  • Understand the impact of each initiative on operational results;

  • Ensure a pragmatic and objective approach to the organization's activities to enable informed decision-making;

  • Promote measurable growth and align decisions with the business strategy for optimal integration.

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • 10-15 years of experience in Commercial, Operational and/or Business Improvement 

  • A degree in Business, Engineering or management with a proven track record delivering results and being able to tell the story of value realisation

  • Sound understanding and deep experience in working end to end business, business process improvement, technology and integration points

  • Experienced in facilitating workshops to engage cross-functional teams to understand complex business arbitration and agree long term solutions

  • Experienced in engaging with and coaching key stakeholders up to senior leader level in the delivery of strategic projects

  • Able to operate autonomously and manage your workload with remote support

  • Core behaviors for success: Business acumen, Holistic knowledge of Atlantic businesses and Capacity to take a step back

  • Strong financial, commercial & technical awareness, structured presentation and interpersonal skills as well as drive, determination and belief. 

  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
