En tant que membre de l’équipe Actifs numériques des Affaires commerciales, vous assisterez le gestionnaire de produit (gestion de la chaîne de valeur) dans l’analyse des écarts, le recensement des exigences des utilisateurs, l’évaluation des occasions d’affaires, la définition des spécifications fonctionnelles détaillées pour le développeur, l’exécution des cycles de tests fonctionnels et de tests d’acceptation par l’utilisateur, et l’organisation d’ateliers de découverte et de réflexion conceptuelle avec les parties prenantes au sein de divers groupes d’utilisateurs interfonctionnels.

Principales responsabilités

  • Gérer un logiciel de chaîne d’approvisionnement destiné aux activités de Rio Tinto Aluminum en Amérique du Nord (Virtual Casthouse) créé sur la plateforme Foundry.
  • Diriger une petite équipe d’ingénieurs de données qui gère et soutient la plateforme Foundry pour l’équipe de RTA Atlantique (Virtual Casthouse).
  • Stimuler la demande et l’innovation en discutant avec les clients pour comprendre les problèmes auxquels ils font face et cibler les améliorations à apporter.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les clients, la direction de l’équipe Actifs numériques et plusieurs équipes de livraison simultanément afin de définir la vision et l’orientation stratégique à privilégier en matière d’actifs numériques pour fournir des services aux clients. 
  • Créer et gérer les feuilles de route des produits en veillant à ce que la vision et la stratégie associées aux produits soient traduites en activités de développement de produits planifiées pour les équipes de livraison ou les fournisseurs tiers.
  • Gérer les livraisons de produits en fonction des feuilles de route des produits et produire des rapports sur les variables associées à la gestion du programme, telles que le suivi par rapport à la portée, au budget et à l’échéancier du projet, de même qu’à l’égard des risques, des capacités et des changements.
  • Agir en tant que personne-ressource de l’équipe Actifs numériques des Affaires commerciales auprès des représentants des clients clés; entretenir une relation étroite avec les équipes clients, et s’assurer de bien comprendre la portée fonctionnelle, les exigences et les priorités des clients.
  • Mener des activités régulières de mobilisation des clients/parties prenantes avec les principaux directeurs des unités d’affaires afin de fournir des informations sur les projets/initiatives en cours, de recenser les besoins futurs et d’annoncer des nouvelles sur la stratégie et les projets en matière d’actifs numériques des Affaires commerciales, etc.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les partenaires du réseau et l’équipe interne de génie logiciel, au besoin, afin de fournir des informations, des conseils et/ou des services spécifiques à la conception technique. Par exemple, travailler avec les TI pour des informations, des conseils et/ou des services liés à la cybersécurité, à l’architecture des données, à l’architecture d’intégration avec les systèmes d’entreprise et à l’architecture de l’infrastructure (réseaux, pare-feu, serveurs, etc.).

Votre contribution

  • Baccalauréat en TI ou formation équivalente.
  • Au moins 10 ans d’expérience pertinente dans des postes à responsabilité croissante en développement de logiciels, en ingénierie des produits de données et en conception de logiciels.
  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience dans la direction d’une équipe de développeurs de logiciels ou d’ingénieurs de données, dans la fourniture de solutions logicielles et dans le soutien à l’entreprise.
  • Connaissance de la chaîne d’approvisionnement, de la planification de la demande et de l’offre, de l’inventaire et de la planification logistique, ainsi que de l’expérience dans le secteur manufacturier ou minier, des atouts.
  • Leadership, enthousiasme, proactivité et volonté de mettre en œuvre et d’influencer la stratégie, quel que soit le public visé.
  • Capacité à composer avec l’ambiguïté et le changement ainsi qu’à concevoir des solutions concrètes et durables.
  • Capacité à évoluer et à réussir dans une organisation matricielle, ainsi qu’à mobiliser les parties prenantes et à établir des partenariats d’affaires, des atouts importants.
  • Capacité à collaborer, à écouter, à recevoir et à fournir de la rétroaction de manière positive ainsi qu’à adopter les comportements préconisés par Rio Tinto.
  • Capacité à voyager.

About the Role

Finding Better Ways to provide the materials the world needs.

As part of the Commercial Digital team, you will be supporting the Product Manager (Value Chain Management) in performing gap analysis, users’ requirements gathering, scoping of business opportunities, defining detailed functional specifications for the developer, leading UAT / Functional testing cycles, and conducting discovery/design thinking workshops with the stakeholders across varied cross-functional user groups.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Managing a supply chain software build for RioTinto Aluminum business in North America (Virtual Casthouse) built on the Foundry platform;
  • Leading a small team of data engineers – in managing and supporting the Foundry Platform for RTA Atlantic team (Virtual Casthouse)
  • Drive demand generation and innovation incubation through engaging with customers to understand the problems they are facing and to identify areas of improvement,
  • Work closely with customers, the digital leadership team and multiple delivery squads concurrently to set the vision and strategic direction for digital products to service customers. 
  • Create, own, and manage product roadmaps ensuring the product vision and strategy are translated into planned product development activities for delivery squads or 3rd-party vendors to undertake.
  • Manage product deliveries by product roadmaps and report on program management variables such as tracking against the project scope, budget, timeline, and from a risk, capacity and change perspective.
  • Act as the primary Commercial Digital contact for key customer representatives, fostering a close relationship with the customer teams, and have a deep understanding of the customer’s functional scope, requirements, and priorities.
  • Conduct regular Customer/Stakeholder engagement with top Business Unit managers to provide updates on current projects/initiatives, scout for future needs and share news about the Commercial Digital strategy, projects, etc.
  • Engaging and working closely with network partners and the internal software engineering team as required, to provide specific input, advice and/or services for the technical design. For example, working with IT for input, advice and/or services related to cyber security, data architecture, integration architecture with enterprise systems and infrastructure architecture (networks, firewalls, server etc).

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent is required.
  • At least 10 years of relevant and progressive experience in software development, data products engineering, and software design
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading a team of software developers or data engineers, delivering software solution, and supporting business
  • Business knowledge in supply chain, demand-supply planning, inventory, logistic planning and manufacturing/mining industry experience is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and initiative-seeking leader with the drive to implement and impact the strategy irrespective of audience
  • Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity and change context to develop workable and sustainable solutions
  • Ability to navigate and operate successfully in a matrix organization, with stakeholders’ engagement and business partnering skills being key requisites.
  • Competencies in collaboration, listening, ability to receive and provide feedback in a positive manner, and embodiment of RT behaviors will be required
  • Ability to travel
  • Create an environment of engagement, empowerment, and collaboration in teamwork and teams
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.
