Nous sommes à la recherche d’un spécialiste de l’approvisionnement en solutions technologiques qui sera responsable de réaliser des stratégies de catégorie de technologie, de sélectionner les fournisseurs et de mettre en œuvre des contrats à l’échelle de Rio Tinto, c’est-à-dire à l’échelle internationale.

Il s’agit d’une bonne occasion pour un professionnel expérimenté de l’approvisionnement en technologie. Vous apprécierez travailler au sein de l’équipe de l’approvisionnement international en technologie, collaborer avec toute une gamme d’intervenants à exercer votre influence et gérer un vaste portefeuille professionnel. Vous devez vous intéresser à l’amélioration des processus et à la transformation; en plus de connaître en profondeur le paysage actuel de la technologie. Relevant du conseiller principal, approvisionnement en technologie, le titulaire devra s’acquitter des fonctions suivantes :

  • Aider à élaborer et à exécuter les stratégies de catégories de technologie dans des secteurs majeurs de l’investissement en technologie pour les logiciels, solutions technologiques et applications
  • Faire de la recherche et mettre à jour ses connaissances sur les catégories et sous-catégories pertinentes pour recenser les occasions d’amélioration au sein des catégories en se fondant sur l’étude de l’industrie et du marché, les priorités organisationnelles, le risque de la chaîne d’approvisionnement et les occasions commerciales.
  • Soutenir l’élaboration de plans de mobilisation des intervenants pour rendre officielles des relations efficaces et collaboratives avec un groupe vaste et varié d’unités d’affaires internationales, notamment la technologie des systèmes d’information.
  • Offrir une orientation et un leadership commerciaux aux équipes d’intervenants pertinents.
  • Établir et renforcer des relations avec des fournisseurs clés pour atteindre l’innovation et de la valeur, par le biais d’un processus officiel de gestion des relations avec les fournisseurs.
  • Travailler avec des ensembles de données complexes et l’équipe de l’entrepôt des données pour effectuer des analyses poussées des données et une modélisation commerciale, en plus de produire des aperçus significatifs des catégories et des affaires.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec des spécialistes des sources d’approvisionnement ainsi que des partenaires juridiques, financiers, etc. pour assurer une expérience de bout en bout, de l’approvisionnement au contrat, à tous les intervenants.
  • Soutenir ou diriger (selon l’exigence) les stratégies de négociation et les plans de communication, pour les négociations et les réunions des fournisseurs.
  • Travailler proactivement aux initiatives pour aider à contenir les fuites de dépenses sous contrat et atteindre des résultats de rendement contractuel au besoin.
  • Mettre à profit ses compétences en résolution de problème, pour les enjeux de service et de qualité des fournisseurs.
  • Travailler efficacement au sein d’une équipe mondiale pouvant nécessiter des appels en soirée ou en matinée.

Ce que vous apporterez

  • Pour que votre candidature soit retenue pour ce poste, vous devrez remplir les exigences suivantes :
  • Vaste expérience antérieure de l’approvisionnement en technologie et de la gestion de catégories
  • Baccalauréat en commerce, administration des affaires ou connexe ou une combinaison d’expérience et éducation
  • Expérience manifeste à titre de responsable de l’obtention de résultats commerciaux positifs
  • Capacité de formuler et de présenter des analyses et des dossiers de décision pour soutenir les stratégies complexes de catégories et de sous-catégories
  • Minimum 6 années d’expérience avec des processus d’approvisionnement de bout en bout, notamment des canaux d’achat dirigés par catégories
  • Solides compétences en négociation et expérience manifeste en tenue de négociations de contrats complexes
  • Expérience à la gestion de projets internationaux d’envergure, associée à la capacité d’exercer une influence sur les principaux intervenants
  • Capacité de travailler de manière efficace et productive pour favoriser un solide environnement d’équipe; degré très élevé d’autonomie personnelle (et de responsabilisation)
  • Capacité d’établir et de maintenir des relations avec des intervenants internes et externes
  • Connaissance et maîtrise de SAP, d’Excel, de Word et de PowerPoint

Procurement Specialist – Technology Solutions

  • Opportunity to join our Global Technology Procurement team and deliver end to end procurement activities as they relate to Rio Tinto’s technology categories
  • Role based in Montreal, QC

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist – Technology Solutions who will be responsible for executing technology category strategies, sourcing and contract implementation globally across Rio Tinto.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology procurement professional. You will enjoy working as part of the Global Technology Procurement team, collaborating with a range of stakeholders to influence and manage a broad portfolio of work. You have a passion for process improvement and transformation and can speak the language of today’s technology landscape. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Technology Procurement, you will:

  • Help develop and execute technology category strategies in major technology investment sectors for software, technology solutions and applications
  • Research and update knowledge of relevant categories and sub-categories to identify opportunities for improvement within the category based on industry and market research, organizational priorities, supply chain risk and commercial opportunities.
  • Support the development of stakeholder engagement plans to help formalize effective and collaborative relationships with a broad and varied group of global business units including IS&T (Information Services and Technology;
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to the relevant stakeholder teams;
  • Build and grow relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation and value through a formal Supplier Relationship Management process;
  • Work with complex data sets and the data warehouse team to perform comprehensive data analysis, commercial modelling and produce meaning category and business insights.
  • Work closely with sourcing specialists, legal, finance and other business partners to support an efficient end to end source to contract experience for all stakeholders.
  • Support or lead (depending on the requirement) negotiation strategies and communication plans for supplier negotiations and meetings.
  • Pro-actively work on initiatives to help contain contract-spend leakage and deliver contractual performance outcomes as required.
  • Provide issue resolution for supplier service and quality issues.
  • Work effectively in a global team that may require evening or morning calls.

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Significant prior experience in Technology Procurement and category management
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field or a combination of experience and education
  • Proven record of leading to drive successful commercial outcomes
  • Ability to formulate and present the analysis and business cases to support complex category and sub-category strategies
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with end-to-end procurement processes, including category driven buying channels
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated experience leading complex contract negotiations
  • Experience in managing large international projects with the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively and productively to support a strong team environment with an expected high degree of individual autonomy (and accountability)
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec
