About The Role

We are looking for an Advisor Transfer Pricing to join the global transfer pricing team on a 12-month fixed term basis, commencing asap. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for managing and improving transfer pricing compliance and reporting across the globe by adopting automation solutions and providing transfer pricing advice to our product groups expanding in the regions in which we operate.
As part of a global team, the role is dynamic and at times may require work outside of normal business hours, including participating in meetings and calls with colleagues across Australia, Singapore, Canada, London and, the U.S.A. Reporting to the Manager Tax Risk Management APAC and working in a collaborative community and a diverse team within the broader Tax team, you will be

Managing global transfer pricing compliance requirements, including
-
Collecting information and preparing transfer pricing documentation.

Assisting with local related-party reporting requirements.

Coordinating benchmarking analyses for these regions.

Coordinating with external service providers and consultants when required.

Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities, especially in the transfer pricing compliance and reporting automation space, with a focus on global consistency and standardisation.

Assisting with the group’s transfer pricing reporting obligations, including updating the Master File and assisting with the preparation of the Country-by-Country Report.

Monitoring changes to TP legislation and communicating and implementing best practices to address any such changes.

Assisting Transfer Pricing Managers in providing timely and commercially relevant transfer pricing services to various Rio Tinto internal stakeholders globally.

Undertake regular inter-company transaction reviews.

Supporting the project management and implementation of transfer pricing projects.

Performing annual true-up analysis of TP charges and working with the finance team to report these amounts in annual statutory accounts.

Building relationships with key stakeholders within the business units and ensuring coordination with members across a global tax department and stakeholder teams (Controllership, Legal, Treasury, Operations).

Assisting managers with respect to reorganizations and transactions, as well as proactively monitoring and identifying potential TP risks and optimization opportunities for the Group’s operations.

Assisting managers with tax audits, Advance Pricing Arrangements (APA), and Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP) (including coordination with external service providers).

Managing interactions with external auditors and external service providers on transfer pricing issues.
About You

Ability to manage your time well.

A number of years of Transfer Pricing experience with a consultancy firm and/or within the tax department of a multinational company.

Professional accounting designation, Law degree, Economics / Finance degree or equivalent background.
-
Demonstrated experience in transfer pricing, including preparation of transfer pricing documentation and compliance filings.
-
Ability to extract, analyse, and review data and make appropriate recommendations.
-
Transfer Pricing implementation experience with a working knowledge of accounting systems and inter-company journals (i.e., preparation of TP adjustments) is desirable.

Ability to prioritize competing tasks and work on multiple assignments with competing deadlines and stakeholders.

Enjoys taking ownership of projects and demonstrates ability to work effectively and collaboratively across cross-functional teams with a diverse background and skillset.

Aptitude for improving or automating processes and workflows by using technology tools such as Power BI.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Proven experience with tax audits; dealing with tax authorities
