About the role
We are looking for Trainers to join the Capability Development Team working on a 5/2/4/3 FIFO roster out of Perth to Port Hedland Operations at Dampier Salt. This is a great opportunity for experienced, safety focused Trainer with experience in Mobile Plant Operators to join our the team.

The training team's scope includes New Starter Onboarding, Training of team members to build the workforce's capability. Training requirements are defined by standardised learning pathway frameworks that incorporate the different levels of experience for new starters and existing employees' ongoing development within each workstream. This is a great opportunity for those who have a passion for learning and delivering training on a broad range of equipment.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
Reporting to the Capability Development Superintendent, this rare and exciting opportunity will see you working 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days.
The successful candidate will:

Train and assess frontline workforce through one-on-one, infield, classroom, or group delivery,

Collaborate with on-job-trainers (OJTs) to facilitate in-field training in alignment with the weekly training schedule,

Support with frontline leadership,

Support the onboarding process for new starters.

Create a positive and engaging experience for new Rio Tinto employees.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience on the following machinery:

Cat 140M, Cat 16M, Komatsu GD955-7 Graders
-
Scania HZ-R730/770 Road Train Haul trucks
-
Cat 336DL Excavators
-
Cat D8T, D10T Dozers
-
Fixed Plant and Shiploader operation
-
Full manual C class licence

What you'll bring

Experience working in a Mining Operations role in mining or another heavy industry.

Training Qualifications (Desirable): While not mandatory, possessing an On Job Trainer qualification or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be beneficial.
