Our multi-billion-dollar project will use innovative block caving techniques to extract copper from over 2,000 meters below the surface, leveraging gravity to efficiently recover this vital resource.
About the Role
We're on the lookout for a Hoist Control Specialist to join our Underground Operations and Maintenance Group. This team is dedicated to the safe upkeep and operation of our deep shafts, multiple mine levels, and all associated equipment and infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Underground Operations & Services Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating hoists to safely transport personnel and materials in the shaft
- Performing hoist system maintenance activities, including conveyances and shaft infrastructure
- Monitoring ventilation, cooling, and dewatering systems, and dispatching personnel for repairs
- Coordinating mine evacuation, emergency response, and trigger action response plans
- Tracking and monitoring personnel working underground
Required Skills/Experience
- Hoist operator experience, or the ability to complete a hoist operator training and qualification program within 3 months
- Proficiency in safely operating and monitoring equipment using an HMI (Human Machine Interface) control system
- Effective communication skills
- Compliance with all fit-for-duty guidelines as established by the company (Annual Hoist Physical)
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience in underground operations and maintenance
- Experience in shaft operations and repair
- Experience in hoist systems maintenance
- Crane operator experience
- MSHA underground mine rescue qualification
