About the role
The track machine supervisor is responsible for but not limited to overseeing the supervision and co-ordination of a designated suite, or group of resurfacing consists to ensure that work is completed on time and in a safe manner. Supporting the surfacing superintendent with main responsibilities for co-ordinating surfacing efforts through efficient planning, direction of operators and the implementation of programmes and strategies.
Working 8 days on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Resurfacing Superintendent, you will:

Assist Surfacing Leadership in the development and implementation of the annual works plan

Lead repairs, maintenance and renewals of infrastructure assets within the team’s discipline

Lead the team and coach and develop staff to build capability of the Skilled Operatives and Works Assistants
-
Supervising the successful completion of program and reviewing accomplished work, with a particular focus on adherence to safety, design, quality and timeliness that aligns with the company HSE development plan

Drive performance outputs of the team

Assist in all mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs to vehicles, plant and equipment in the field and lead where qualified

Ensure supply and distribution of necessary material and order new materials to maintain reactive capabilities
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
-
Experience within the rail industry (Track resurfacing preferred)
-
Experience in leading and supervising teams
-
M1 safe working certificate
-
Ability to input data in multiple systems including but not limited to Word, Excel, Win ALC and SAP
-
Previous experience in establishing and maintaining effective staff relationships
-
Certificate IIII in specific trade competency or equivalent recognised experience
Where you will be working
This role will be based at our 7 Mile Rolling Stock Maintenance, a short drive from the coastal towns of Karratha & Dampier. We operate 220 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometers of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometers with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.
Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
