About the role
As the Delivery Manager of Global Programs, you will lead the successful delivery of complex, large-scale technology initiatives across Rio Tinto’s global portfolio. This role requires a strategic leader who thrives in ambiguity, adapts to evolving delivery approaches and drives outcomes across diverse geographies and stakeholder groups.
Responsibilities

Lead global program delivery across AMEA, APAC and other regions, ensuring alignment with business priorities and consistent execution across time zones and cultures.

Establish and evolve hybrid delivery methodologies, balancing structure with flexibility to meet the unique needs of each program. You will champion fit-for-purpose approaches that adapt to complexity and scale.

Provide strategic leadership across cross-functional teams, including Business Partners, Domain Managers, and system integrators. You will foster collaboration and ensure alignment between technology and business outcomes.

Own the technology delivery component of global programs, working closely with system integrators and internal IS&T teams to ensure seamless integration and execution.

Navigate ambiguity and complexity, acting as a key troubleshooter and escalation point for program-level challenges. You will bring clarity and direction to grey areas and shifting priorities.

Drive excellence in program delivery, including contract oversight, resource and budget management, risk mitigation, and performance tracking.

Build high-performing, globally distributed teams, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and accountability. You will mentor and develop talent within your chapter, ensuring long-term capability and resilience.

Global Program Leadership – demonstrated expertise in leading complex, multi-region programmes with diverse teams and stakeholders, particularly across AMEA and APAC.
Hybrid Delivery Expertise – skilled in applying and evolving hybrid delivery methodologies, balancing structure with flexibility to suit unique program needs.
Methodology Fluency – strong grasp of industry standard delivery methodologies like PMP and PRINCE2, agile delivery methods and tools like MS Project and ADO.
Analytical and Data-Driven – uses data and insights to inform decisions, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement across programmes.
Strategic Troubleshooting – comfortable operating in ambiguity, resolving complex delivery challenges, and providing clarity in grey areas.
Supplier and Partner Management – proven ability to lead and manage global system integrators and external partners with a focus on outcomes and collaboration.
Situational Awareness – maintains a comprehensive view of programme status, risks, and interdependencies across the global portfolio.
