We are seeking a Senior Advisor – Contractor Management Systems to join our high-performing Finance team, dedicated to delivering value across the RTA Pacific Operations. In this role, you will lead the implementation of contractor management best practices across Procurement, Operations, and Finance, ensuring full contract compliance and eliminating cost leakage.
We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile systems expert with strong expertise in IT infrastructure and application development. You will be responsible for the integration and optimisation of contractor management platforms, ensuring seamless data availability and usability for end users. This role plays a key part in aligning technology with business needs by integrating Rio Tinto systems to enhance operational efficiency.
As the Senior Advisor, you will oversee application development, system integration, ongoing support, and continuous improvement. You will ensure new systems and enhancements are fit-for-purpose, thoroughly tested, and successfully implemented into production.

Reporting to the Contractor Management Business Partner and working in an exciting environment within the Finance function, you will:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of contractor management systems and applications.

Ensure seamless integration between contractor management platforms and other Rio Tinto systems (e.g. SAP, Workday, Ariba).

Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure systems support contract compliance, reporting, and cost control.

Oversee system testing, validation, and change management to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and meet business requirements.

Act as the primary liaison between IT, system vendors, and business stakeholders for all contractor system-related projects.

Maintain system support frameworks including incident management, user training, and documentation.

Drive continuous improvement and innovation in contractor system functionality and data quality.

Ensure systems and data comply with internal controls, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Provide insights and analytics to support decision-making and performance monitoring related to contractor management.

What you will bring
-
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related discipline.

Proven experience in system integration, application development, and digital solution delivery.

Proficiency with enterprise systems such as SAP, Workday, Ariba, or similar platforms.

Proficiency with business intelligence programs/techniques (Power BI and SQL) and SaaS environments
-
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, and Operations.

Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Experience in Agile development, system testing, and production deployment processes.

Understanding of IT governance, security, and data management principles.

Ability to work independently and within collaborative teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
It will also be beneficial if you have:

Strong knowledge of contractor management processes and associated systems.

Experience in use Rio Tinto Business Solution (specifically PAM and MMP)

Experience with the following contractor management systems: MCI Track and Avetta and their interconnectivity to ensure contractor data can be validated and shared across Rio systems

Knowledge and experience in the metals and mining industry or commodities trading.
