We are looking for a Process Engineer to support our Processing Technical Services team. Your role will include activities such the optimization and improvement of processes for converting and refining raw materials into products.

Reporting to the Process Superintendent, you will be:
- A role model for Safety and Quality and a credible technical resource across site
- Developing and implementing data driven decision making tools, to optimize the value chain from mining operations to delivery of final product at the port facilities.
- Analyzing operating procedures, process data trends, and equipment unit operation functions to optimize the process to achieve or exceed production plans
- Working closely with processing plants Control Room Operators, operations and maintenance teams to safely maximize production and quality
- Reporting accurate operational information to ensure informed value chain decisions are being made
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Process Engineering or related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial environment with a preference for experience in Mineral Processing or Induction Furnaces
- Leadership experience in a fast paced highly technical environment where decisions are made to remove constraints and optimize the process
- A working understanding of instrumentation and process control systems
- A strong safety mindset
- Troubleshooting skills to define and identify problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to take prompt corrective actions

The base salary range for this role is $88,800.00 – 133,200.00 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
