About the role
We are looking for a fixed-term Senior Advisor, Finance, that will report to the Metals Finance Business Partner. This is a critical role supporting our Kennecott operation based in Salt Lake City.
You will:
- Provide in-depth financial analysis to the Kennecott Metals team, attending and participating in team meetings and workshops.
- Monitor dept cost transactions and support cost center owners in managing their costs; including working with the key partners across the business to ensure that these are accurately reported and projected.
- Support the month-end closing and forecasting processes pertaining to Metals end of the business, compiles performance reporting.
- Find improvement opportunities and ways to streamline and automate models, and reporting processes.
- Be part of the annual planning cycle, providing historical and forward-looking cost analysis, preparing budget templates, meeting with cost center owners and ensuring the plan is finalized in the system.
- Prepare presentations and overall cost consolidation (requires Think Cell, PowerPoint proficiency).
- Capital project evaluation (NPV calculation) within defined authority limits.

What you’ll bring
- Critical thinking and ability to stay on task
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (test will be given during the interview)
- Motivated, determined individuals with ability to work autonomously
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to work with large amounts of data and draw conclusions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both face to face and remotely
- Ability to engage and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Technical and operational insight and experience is a bonus
- Degree in accounting, finance or similar discipline (incoming and current seniors would be considered provided they meet other requirements)
- CA or CPA qualifications are a plus
- Valid driving license
