- Leading and mentoring a skilled health, safety and security team in one of NZ’s largest and most challenging industrial operations
- Driving smart, strategic improvements in critical risk management across a wide range of high hazards including molten metals
- Supporting our site leadership team with top-tier health and safety advice and insight
- Command a 24/7 volunteer industrial fire brigade registered with Fire & Emergency NZ, plus an on-call medical and rescue team
- Manage a 24/7 security contractor managing access to site and our wharf facilities which are a ‘Port of First Entry’ under Maritime code
- Shape the site’s security posture in line with the ISPS Code, bio-security controls and Rio Tinto global standards
- Embed Human & Organisational Performance (HOP) and Human-Factors thinking across 850 employees and contractors—moving the dial from “work as imagined” to “work as done”
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in complex industrial or manufacturing multi-hazard environments
- Experience in human and organisational performance, human factors or similar
- A track record of leading teams and influencing across all levels of an organisation
- Curiosity, courage, and a desire to do work that truly matters
