About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Planner who will be supporting the Planning and Scheduling Team & Execution Teams by providing regular performance feedback, gap analysis & strategic reporting. This role also provides leadership governance in safety, planning and scheduling activities at a site level, ensuring team performance is in line with short to medium term objectives. This role is suited to a highly motivated individual who is passionate about being part of the solution and driving positive outcomes.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Scheduling, you will:

Integrate and support in implementation of maintenance strategy, budgeting and governance of maintenance shut forum (MSF).

Collaborate with planning, scheduling, engineering and maintenance teams to address asset issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring fit-for-purpose plans and schedules.

Ensure integrity and quality of the maintenance shut forum through adequate review of scheduled loss and operational needs.

Govern adherence to Work and Shutdown Management processes and drive the usage of standardised tools and reports.

Perform quality control for site-wide plans and schedules, linking in with the SAM (specialist asset management) to establish improvement strategies on key planning and scheduling metrics (i.e. schedule loading and planning accuracy).

Liaise with relevant site stakeholders and specialists to solve problems and replicate best practices.

Identify and progress improvement opportunities in collaboration with the SAM.

Collaborate with operational stakeholders to establish budget inputs, understand variances, and provide monthly budget forecasts.

Develop and present monthly maintenance cost performance reports for the responsible cost centres.

Support budget and asset outage planning by gathering site information and facilitating zero based budget (ZBB) review meetings and risk assessments.
About You

Knowledge of fixed plant assets is preferred but not essential.

Demonstrate good understanding of RTIO processes (Safety, People, Asset Management, Cash)

Preference is to have reasonable systems knowledge: e.g SAP, Prometheus, Enablon, & other

The ability to communicate effectively, work and interact with others in a dynamic environment.

C Class licence.
Where you’ll be working
You will benefit from the vibrant coastal location working a 9-day fortnight.
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
