About the role
We are looking for seasoned and passionate Principal Advisor Business Improvement – Operational Excellence to lead the Business Improvement team at our Brockman 4 operations, providing team leadership and improvement expertise to the operations to deliver business priorities, including the execution of best practices to enable RTSPS sustainability.

You will have the opportunity to lead the Business Improvement team and provide improvement expertise to the operations to plan and achieve business priorities. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
Reporting to the Manager Operational Excellence and working in a collaborative community, you will:

Lead the Business Improvement team, providing coaching, mentoring and guidance

Actively monitor direct reports to ensure activities meet all health, safety and environmental requirements, and assist in risk mitigation

Support the delivery of annual and strategic planning for site

Manage the deployment and embedment of the RTSPS

Identify and lead improvement projects using project management and improvement methodologies, such as facilitating workshops with leaders

Provide expert technical direction, coaching and support to operational leaders on business improvement best practice and support the development of capability, mindsets and behaviours

Actively engage with operational leaders to identify bottlenecks and opportunities to increase operational effectiveness and establish a pipeline of future improvement

Develop strong interfaces and relationships across the site to ensure optimisation of improvements and efficiencies

Embed and champion continuous improvement processes and solutions across the site, bringing transparency, simplification, supportive leadership and continuous improvement culture to life

To be successfully considered you’ll bring:

Experience leading teams in strategic continuous improvement activities where you have demonstrated results in the planning, facilitation and delivery of sustainable projects

Solid performance leading through change, coaching capability and an ability to develop and build credibility among peers

Ability to proactively identify and communicate new ideas, strategically influence leadership, facilitate workshops and implement changes through to the frontline

Strong teamwork, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Current C Class driver’s license

Where you’ll be working
Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman 4 is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.
Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
