About the role
The implementation of Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a critical step in Rio Tinto’s transformation journey, moving from outdated technology (ECC6) to a new, digitally enabled lean core platform (S/4) and application ecosystem. As this is a business led, Group-wide transformation effort, it requires a strong team to bridge the business and technology landscapes. From contract to cash, every aspect of our operations will benefit from this modernization that offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a digital foundation that will stand Rio Tinto up well for ongoing digital transformation. Rio Tinto is look to modernize the Order to Cash and Logistics processes making it simpler, reorganizing work and driving up automation levels through deploying a modern ERP as core and supporting best in breed technologies across the process.
You will be responsible for successful delivery of work supporting MOVE & SELL processes and business integration in Pricing related process areas. Key areas of processes and business integration include pricing-related dependent areas for Purchases, Sales and Intercompany contracts. Deivering project work while working closely with data team, technology team and appointed System Integrator (SI) to drive project outcome.
You will drive the modernization of process and transaction data, coordinating across functional teams in Move and Sell workstream inclusive of other processes streams within MOVE & SELL workstream, master data and technology teams. Ensuring project output is delivered with high quality while governance & compliance and standards are maintained throughout program delivery.
Transitioning to the SAP S/4HANA platform requires a thorough design and change management process to minimize business disruption and ensure the technology is adopted as intended This role will work with MOVE GPO to partner with the functional business leaders in Commercial to be the voice into the central program through providing strategic advice, direction, expertise and ensure the plans for the implementation minimizes disruption to the operational teams.
Reporting to the Modern ERP Move and SELL GPO Workstream Lead, you will:
Process Ownership and Governance

The position is accountable for delivery of the GP outcomes for pricing as part of the Modern ERP Move and Sell Workstream commitment.

Drive the design and standardization and simplification of end-to-end business processes related to pricing that meet business requirements and controls.
-
Review and endorse process documentation to support the development of m-ERP functional design specifications.
-
Provides business context, insights, expertise and knowledge of the as-is environment to support the development and documentation of the detailed process maps and workflows for the M-ERP solutions or similar industry experience.

Work with the Solution Architects, Data Architects, Technology and Change specialists to confirm delivery GP process designs and required cross-process integration.

Responsible to work with Signavio modeler for process design and optimisation, governance and monitoring in support of the scope defined in m-ERP.
Stakeholder Collaboration
-
Engages with business line (internal process users) as well as business stakeholders and their appointed representatives in BUs & Functions.

Collaborate with key stakeholders (business leaders, functional teams, IT, and SI) to gather requirements and ensure the solution aligns with business needs.

Act as a liaison between business users and the technical SAP and SI implementation team to translate business needs into functional specifications.
Reporting and transaction data

Work with Workstream Master data team to ensure the m-ERP data Simplification strategy is executed successfully during upgrade.

Ensure the m-ERP real-time reporting capability is adopted and minimize development and workaround to meet user needs.
Change Management and Training

Support SI and Change manager in provide input to change activities for end-users and ensure they understand new system functionalities as required.

Ensure continuous feedback loops from the business for ongoing system improvements.
Project Oversight and Quality Assurance

Work closely with PMO & Workstream Lead & other Process leads to ensure that SAP S4 implementation requirement is delivered on timely basis.

Review and endorse project documentation to support the development of m-ERP functional design specifications.

Ensure that process design follows best practices, clean core i.e. minimizing customizations and ensuring system flexibility for future enhancements.

Monitor key project metrics, KPIs, and ensure that process performance aligns with targets.
Risk Management
-
Identify and actively support PMO and Workstream lead in managing risks and issues related to process design, providing mitigation strategies.

Actively support PMO and workstream lead in developing mitigation strategies for risks associated with process redesigns, data migration, or system integration.
Continuous Improvement
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and optimizing processes. ·

Collaborate with business units, other GPOs, and Group Functions, driving continuous improvement and optimization.

Ensure that future system upgrades or enhancements align with the company's evolving needs.
What you will need for the role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
-
University degree in either a technical or commercial discipline.
-
Preferably 8 to 14+ years of relevant experience.
-
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex business processes and propose effective solutions.
Process & Data
-
Extensive experience and knowledge of Rio Tinto’s process or processes related to pricing and impacted downstream processes in Contract to Cash in a similar organisation setting.
-
Deep understanding of pricing processes, strong problem-solving mindset and experience in driving process improvements and business analysis in commodities domain.
-
Hands-on exposure to designing these processes and systems thinking is essential.
-
Experienced in usage of S4 originate data in design of reports or dashboard on KPI, metrics consumed by senior leaders or involved in reporting projects.

Prior experience working in projects that drive end-to-end standardization/simplification or implementation of end-to-end processes is preferred or at least six sigma yellow belt.

Beneficial to be experienced in design of process-related internal controls.
-
Experience in identifying and driving process improvement opportunities and ensuring integration of pricing with upstream and downstream systems such as contracts, invoicing, risk etc.
Leadership
-
Proven track record in leading teams (with internal and external) and fostering a strong team culture with a networked operating model. Preferably in global and cross time zone context.

Worked in projects construct and had demonstrated ability to drive success and desired outcome.
SAP Expertise & Implementation experience
-
Preferred to have strong knowledge of ERP systems and their capabilities (specifically ECC (F&A) or S/4 HANA) or equivalent of commodity pricing solutions.
-
Understanding of integrations with external price providers or price aggregator platforms (Bloomberg, ZEMA, Reuters etc) is preferred.
-
Experienced as key appointment holder in large implementation project using project methodologies like Waterfall or Agile.

Beneficial to have experience with the value pillars supported by SAP. Knowledgeable with types of value pillars, strategic pillars, value tree.
Relationship and communication
-
Required ability to build strong relationships with users and senior stakeholders’ leadership. ·

Required experience with effective communication where vision and change management requirements are shared within team managed and business stakeholders. Preferred engagement with SI.

Beneficial to have experience with Influence decisions and lead the key stakeholder communications, and internal and external engagements.
