Estamos buscando un Coordinador de Proyecto de Logística y Operaciones, quién brindará soporte crítico de primera línea para el desarrollo de la exploración en Colombia. Este puesto debe demostrar liderazgo operativo inicial y asumir la responsabilidad por la entrega, evaluada en función de riesgos, de muestras geológicas y la recopilación de datos para el equipo de Colombia.
Este rol es fundamental para la ejecución de nuevas pruebas de objetivos de exploración en Colombia, y gestionará servicios contratados de alto riesgo esenciales para el estudio conceptual planificado del recurso de cobre identificado en Comita.
Este puesto colaborará directamente con el equipo de geología de RTX Colombia, Exploration Manager y líderes de áreas funcionales, en conformidad con las políticas de Rio Tinto Exploraciones (RTX) y Rio Tinto, los estándares empresariales y de HSE, así como los objetivos organizacionales y del proyecto, bajo el liderazgo del Superintendente de Logística y Operaciones de Colombia.
Además, se requerirá implementar la estrategia de gestión de contratistas de RTX a través del equipo de supervisión para operaciones de riesgo bajo a medio, bajo la dirección del Superintendente de Logística y Operaciones de Colombia.
Usted estará a cargo de lo siguiente:

Representar a la organización en la ejecución de acuerdos de servicios en el sitio del proyecto, cumpliendo con las prioridades organizacionales y del proyecto.

Liderar la evaluación continua, priorización y control de riesgos críticos (aviación, transporte terrestre, perforación, seguridad) relacionados con los objetivos del proyecto y de la organización.

Es responsable del seguimiento y reporte de hitos de entrega de servicios y costos en proyectos específicos.

Gestionar la adquisición y entrega de servicios conforme a los procedimientos técnicos de RTX y RT, como el Procedimiento de Perforación de Exploración y Evaluación de Rio Tinto, así como los procedimientos seguros de trabajo basados en tareas para el personal de L&O de RTX y las organizaciones asociadas que brindan servicios de apoyo a la exploración, como perforación y servicios relacionados con la perforación y el establecimiento de objetivos geológicos.

Asegurar la ejecución oportuna de los procesos de licitación en colaboración con el equipo de adquisiciones, de acuerdo con el cronograma del Plan de Gestión del Proyecto y las restricciones de tiempo impuestas por el proceso de permisos.

Garantizar el éxito y la mejora continua del soporte operativo para las pruebas de objetivos geológicos.

El candidato debe demostrar competencias clave en exploración mineral, conocimiento técnico de procesos mecánicos y experiencia en contratación y gestión de trabajos de alto riesgo.

Se prefiere experiencia previa en exploración, minería, perforación, aviación o prospección.

Se valora altamente la experiencia en entornos austeros, como selva, altitud geográfica y campamentos accesibles por helicóptero o a pie.

Manejo de herramientas como Forwood CRM para la identificación, evaluación y control de riesgos.

Se prefiere título universitario o superior, aunque no es obligatorio. También se considera experiencia en servicio militar, gubernamental o en una empresa minera de primer nivel.

Dominio de los idiomas español e inglés.

Manejo de software de Microsoft Office: Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

About the role

The Logistics & Operations Project Coordinator role provides critical first line support for the development of exploration in Colombia. This role is required to demonstrate first line operational leadership and responsibility for the risk-assessed delivery of geological samples and data collection for the Colombia team.
The role is critical to the execution of new exploration target tests in Colombia in and will provide management of high risk contracted services essential to the planned conceptual study of the copper resource that has been identified at Comita.
This role will collaborate directly with the Rio Tinto Exploration Colombia geology team, Exploration Manager and functional area leads in accordance with RTX and RT policies, business and HSE standards, as well as organizational and project objectives, with leadership from the Colombia Logistics and Operations Superintendent.
This role will be required to implement the RTX contractor management strategy through supervision team for low to medium risk operations under the leadership of the Colombia L&O Superintendent.
Your responsibilities will include:

Represents the organization in the execution of service agreements at the project site, delivering on organizational & project priorities.

Leads the ongoing assessment, prioritization and control of critical risks (aviation & road transportation, drilling, security) related to project and organizational objectives.

Responsible for the tracking and reporting on service delivery milestones and costs for discreet projects.
-
Managing service procurement & delivery in accordance with RTX & RT technical procedures, such as Rio Tinto’s Exploration and Evaluation Drilling Procedure, as well as task based safe work procedures for tasks to be executed by RTX L&O staff and partner organizations providing exploration support services such as drilling, and the services that support drilling and the establishment of geological targets.

Ensures the timely execution of bidding processes in partnership with procurement team, according to Project Management Plan timeline and time restrictions imposed by permitting process.

Ensures success & ongoing improvement of operations support for geological target tests.

Candidate must demonstrate core competencies for mineral exploration; technical knowledge of mechanical processes, and experience contracting and managing execution of high-risk work.

A background in exploration, mining, drilling, aviation, or prospecting is preferred.

Experience in austere environments, jungle and geographical altitude, camp environments accessed by helicopter and on foot is highly preferred.

Facility with tools, such as Forwood CRM for the identification, assessment and control of risk.

Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred but not required. Military or government service or a previous career in a tier one mining organization may also serve in this regard.

Fluency in Spanish and English languages.
