Estamos en búsqueda de un profesional comprometido para apoyar el proyecto de Exploraciones de Rio Tinto, asegurando la generación y gestión de datos de exploración de alta calidad. Este rol será clave en la aplicación de flujos de trabajo, sistemas, bases de datos y prácticas de gobernanza estandarizadas para maximizar la calidad y disponibilidad de los datos. Las responsabilidades principales incluyen facilitar la entrega y mejora de los sistemas de datos geocientíficos, brindar capacitación sobre plataformas técnicas, promover el uso adecuado de los sistemas RTX en exploración, apoyar la captura de datos de campo de alta calidad y las comunicaciones, y supervisar contratistas.
Tus responsabilidades incluirán:

Administración de datos y sistemas.

Soporte técnico para sistemas y datos, incluyendo dispositivos de campo, flujos de trabajo y herramientas.

Gestión, mantenimiento y curaduría de activos de datos.

Desarrollo y entrega de capacitaciones para usuarios finales.

Ejecución de migraciones de datos de complejidad intermedia, entregas de datos, consultas y análisis.

Gestión de partes interesadas inmediatas con apoyo del líder.

Implementación y seguimiento de políticas, prácticas, estrategias y soluciones globales, incluyendo migraciones de datos y entregas de complejidad baja a media, consultas, análisis e informes.

Identificación e impulso de mejoras continuas en sistemas globales, herramientas, acceso a datos e informes.

Título terciario relevante en geociencias, ciencias de la tierra y/o IS&T (deseable).

Experiencia en ciencias de la tierra, exploración minera y/o negocios afines, con comprensión de la dinámica del sector y sus implicancias para brindar soporte a equipos remotos y virtuales.

Disponibilidad para viajar periódicamente a sitios de campo remotos.

Amplia experiencia en gestión de bases de datos relacionales, incluyendo sistemas de perforación y muestreo superficial. Capacidad para programar en lenguajes como SQL, Python, R, etc. Se valorará experiencia con acQuire u otras soluciones de gestión de datos de perforación.

Buen entendimiento del proceso de exploración y su ciclo completo.

Sólidas habilidades analíticas para comprender requerimientos del negocio, identificar y evaluar opciones, y entregar soluciones de sistemas, información y datos.

About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for a dedicated professional to support the Rio Tinto Explorations project by ensuring the generation and management of high-quality exploration data. This role will be instrumental in applying standardized workflows, systems, databases, and governance practices to maximize data quality and availability. Key responsibilities include facilitating the delivery and enhancement of geoscience data systems, providing training on technical platforms, promoting the correct use of RTX systems in exploration, supporting high-quality field data capture and communications, and supervising contractors.
Your responsibilities will include:

Administration of data and systems.

Technical support for systems and data including field devices, workflows, tools.
-
Manages, maintains, curates data assets.
-
Development and delivery of end user training.
-
Delivery of intermediate complexity data migrations, data handovers, querying, analysis of data
-
Manage immediate stakeholders with leader support.
-
Operationalises and tracks global policies, practices, strategies and solutions small medium complexity data migrations and handovers, data querying, analysis, reporting.

Identifies and drives continuous improvement of global system, tools, data access, reporting.

Relevant tertiary qualifications such as in geosciences, earth sciences and/or IS&T are desirable.

Experience in an earth sciences, mineral exploration and/or relevant business with an understanding of the dynamics of the business as well as implications for providing systems and support to remote and virtual teams.

Ability to travel periodically to remote field sites.
-
Extensive experience in managing relational databases including Drilling and Surface Sampling systems. Ability to script in languages such as SQL, Python, R etc. Experience with acQuire or other drilling data management solutions would be highly regarded.

Sound understanding of exploration process and end to end pipeline
-
Sound analytical skills to understand business requirements, identify as well as evaluate options and deliver systems, information and data solutions to address business needs.

Proficiency and experience in GIS (Geographic Information System) and spatial data management systems.

An understanding of cloud data platforms and data science concepts would be beneficial.

Desirable Technical skills include Microsoft365 applications, automation and workflow management.

The proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a range of senior leaders, professional and technical staff to achieve customer focused outcomes through the sharing of expertise, skills and technical capability.
