About the role
At New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter (NZAS), known locally as Tiwai, we are finding better ways™ to provide the materials the world needs. We’re seeking Mechanical Tradespeople to join our Reduction Maintenance Breakdown Team.
Reporting to the Supervisor and Superintendent, this is a shift-based role with flexible roster options available. You’ll carry out breakdown and preventative maintenance across a range of Reduction equipment, including cranes, compressors, pot cells and conveying systems, while actively contributing to safety and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- NZ-recognised Level 4 (or higher) Mechanical Trade qualification
- Full NZ Class 1 driver licence
- Strong safety mindset and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Curiosity, flexibility, and a desire to learn
