About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance to join our team, and work locally across our Tom Price Mine and Western Turner Syncline operations on a family friendly 8 days on 6 days off roster.
Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well.
You’ll be a part of a friendly team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You will be located and working locally in Tom Price, giving you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Manager Mobile Equipment Maintenance, you will also:

- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
- Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Maintenance personnel
- Organise and manage the execution of Maintenance work performed
- Responsible for Mobile Equipment Maintenance training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity
- Manage Maintenance activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact
- Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations
- Manage a budget and ensure capital and operating funds are allocated correctly within Mobile Equipment Maintenance and promote a high level of cost awareness
- Executes risk and assurance responsibilities defined in the Rio Tinto Risk Management standard
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated capability in coaching, leading change and effective decision making and proven project delivery experience
- Experienced in contributing to the development of a safety culture and ensuring relevant safety compliance as well as adherence to standards, processes and procedures and asset management principles
- Maintenance work management or shutdown management experience
- Root cause diagnostics, problem solving, reliability techniques
- Knowledge of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) or equivalent and Microsoft Office
- Collaboratively enables Safe Production Centric Team (SPCT) effectiveness to safely optimise productivity, build organisational excellence, capability and improvement
- Demonstrate understanding of budget preparation, variance analysis, cost forecasting and cost drivers.
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification, certification or higher
- A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
