We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Coordinator Plant Operations, to join our Fixed Plant team at West Angelas.
 

This role presents a great opportunity for an individual with strong leadership and well-developed communication skills to work within a dynamic fixed plant environment. You will undertake a range of support activities to assist the Supervisor’s and enable them to lead the team in a safe and efficient manner. You will actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost, and production.

The roster consists of 8 days on, 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on and 7 nights off, with fly-in fly-out options from Perth, Busselton, or Broome. This roster provides an excellent opportunity to dedicate time to what matters most to you and your loved ones.

Working within the Dry Plant and reporting to the Supervisor, your role will include (but isn’t limited to):

• Allocating tasks to crew members at the commencement of the shift in accordance with the daily plan, and throughout the shift in response to changes to work priorities 

• Ensuring shift members and contractors understand and comply with HSE working procedures 

• Assisting in identify training and development needs for team members and provide feedback to the Supervisor 

• Recommending changes to the Supervisor that impact the production of the shift; address to negate problems, or capitalize on opportunities, and carry out those changes once approved 

• Record breakdown events in the supervisor handover tool

• Assist with CMS when required

• Assisting the Supervisor to conduct performance reviews by providing input to team members’ performance 

• Undertaking acting duties when the Supervisor is absent and liaising with other departments in a professional manner 

What you’ll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• A current C Class driver’s license

• Strong and demonstrated knowledge of fixed plant equipment, breakdown management experience

• Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing, and coaching team members

• An uncompromising positive safety attitude 

• Strong communication skills and be comfortable liaising with various stakeholders

• Be highly self-motivated and being able to demonstrate a history of continuous improvement

Where you’ll be working

Located 110km west of Newman, West Angelas operates on a fly-in fly-out roster from Perth, Broome and Busselton.

West Angelas is a pioneer in autonomous technologies – it was the first site to trial autonomous haul trucks and incorporate autonomous drilling into our operations in 2008, and we continue to have one of the largest mining fleets in the Pilbara.

Our high-grade, low-phosphorous Marra Mamba orebody is an integral part of the Pilbara Blend, contributing both lump and fines products on around four trains each day. At the West Angelas hub there are state-of-the-art power generation and refueling facilities. These facilities supply power and diesel fuel to the East Pilbara mine sites.

The future is bright at West Angelas with ongoing growth projects at Deposits C and D, as well as additional deposits under study providing enormous opportunities for personal development and career growth.
