We are looking for a Shipping & Logistics Operator to contribute towards the safe and efficient running of the Shipping & Logistics department. This role carries out multiple complex tasks involving both fixed and mobile plant daily and manages the material handling processes while working.

This position is a great fit for those who have demonstrated leadership skills, enjoy a physically active role and can build strong relationships through stakeholder engagement. Working on the R2 Shift Roster your shifts will include 12-hour day/night shift (two-day, two‑night, and four-day off rotation), allowing you the opportunity to balance your work and other lifestyle commitments.

Reporting to the Crew Leader and working in a predominantly independent manner, you will:
- Engage and direct stakeholders (internal/external) across Wharf Operations;
- Assist the team in managing the Torbeds, Bath Plant, Metal yard, Coke supply, Alumina shed, Coke sheds, Landfill, SCL and other related processes;
- Operate Heavy Vehicles/Plant such as loaders, excavators, trucks, the ship unloader and the Bath Plant;
- Operate other Plant as required;
- Drive improvement projects as assigned by Crew Leader/Superintendent;
- Collaborate with other functions/departments as required.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Class 2 Drivers and Forklift Licence (Class 3, 4 or 5 desirable)
- Proficient Computer Skills across SAP and MS Outlook
- Previous experience operating heavy machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Proven ability to solve problems and analyse data in an autonomous manner
- Clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills
- A level of fitness that allows you to perform several manual tasks
