About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Quality Assurance, with major project experience, to join our global business. The Senior Manager will be able to leverage their hard-earned project delivery experience, to support RT Projects’ global portfolio. The role is accountable for the quality function within RT Projects including the provision of quality advice and quality management expertise to project teams, oversight of the RT Projects’ quality framework for delivering major projects, providing assurance reviews of the quality function on projects, managing centralised reporting of quality assurance activities and engagement with key stakeholders.
Reporting to the General Manager – Engineering Projects, this role is responsible for:

Leading the development and implementation of quality management systems across our portfolio of capital projects

Providing strategic direction and governance for quality assurance and control activities

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are embedded from project initiation through to execution and close-out

Direct and manage targeted quality assurance activities to ensure quality is delivered within the guidelines of RT Project’s quality framework and standards, enabling early identification of performance or process gaps and development of mitigation plans in conjunction with the project team to ensure alignment

Champion continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned programs

Mentor and support project quality leads across multiple sites and disciplines

Interface with external contractors and vendors to ensure quality expectations are met
What you will bring:
-
20+ years’ experience in quality management, and more recent leadership experience in large-scale infrastructure or mining projects
-
A demonstrated track record of displaying innovative strategic planning and problem-solving capability across a broad portfolio of extractive industry projects

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
-
An ability to self-motivate and design and build process and framework from inception
-
Ability to influence and drive change in complex, matrixed environments and maintain a network of contacts across a global portfolio
-
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline
-
Experience working in a centralised or corporate project delivery function
-
A flexible approach that reflects the global nature of RT Projects’ portfolio of projects.

A commitment to routine national and international travel
It will also be beneficial if you have:

Completed further studies in engineering or project management
-
Possess project experience with mining, mineral extraction or oil and gas industries
-
Have had exposure to other project functions, with a clear understanding of roles within mega projects i.e. Project Controls, Contracts and Procurement, Estimating, Scheduling, Risk, Construction, Operational Readiness and Data Management.
