About the Role

As a Health Senior Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to the operation and a key contributor to how we manage health risks in a demanding underground environment. This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical skills in the field, grow leadership capability through coaching and influence, and support consistent delivery of exposure monitoring, surveillance, investigations, and improvement plans. It is a strong step for someone who has solid occupational health experience and is ready to broaden scope while being supported by experienced leaders and clear governance.

In this role, a higher-than-expected exposure result, a health complaint, or a control failure requires immediate action. You slow things down, verify facts, and help leaders respond in a way that protects people and aligns with standards. You coordinate follow up monitoring and corrective actions while communicating clearly and respectfully across teams.

You will be guided and supported by the Health, Safety, and Security Principal Advisor and work closely with operational leaders, contractors, and the wider HSES team. You will be trusted as a subject matter expert and relied upon to bring clarity, consistency, and leadership as you carry out the responsibilities below.

• Put the health and safety of people first in all decisions, programs, and field activities
• Lead and support site occupational health programs with a strong focus on underground health hazards such as dust, noise, diesel particulate matter, thermal stress, and hazardous substances
• Provide expert health advice to operational leaders to proactively identify, assess, and manage health risks
• Support compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and applicable occupational health legislation and Rio Tinto standards
• Oversee health exposure monitoring, medical surveillance, and occupational hygiene assessments
• Investigate health related incidents, near misses, and emerging trends, recommending sustainable corrective actions
• Partner with contractors to ensure consistent understanding of health requirements and expectations
• Support continuous improvement through audits, data analysis, performance reporting, and workforce training

About You

• You are committed to protecting workers’ health and influencing positive changes across operations
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, industrial hygiene, health sciences, or a related discipline
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site access requirements
• Seven or more years of experience in occupational health or industrial hygiene roles, preferably in underground mining or heavy industry
• Strong working knowledge of mining health hazards, control strategies, and health program management
• Experience engaging with regulatory bodies such as MSHA and OSHA and implementing health management systems
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence leaders, contractors, and frontline teams
• Comfortable working both underground and in surface operational environments
• Proficient in health data management systems such as Cority and Microsoft Office tools

Where you will be working

You will be joining Resolution Copper at a pivotal moment in the project’s history. With the Resolution Copper Land Exchange now complete, the project is advancing its next phase of technical work, community engagement, and state permitting activities.

Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of total U.S. copper demand and generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, delivering an economic value of several billion dollars over the life of the mine. The project will rely on block caving, a proven underground mining method that uses gravity to extract ore from a deposit located more than 2,000 meters below the surface. This technique is the most viable way to safely and efficiently recover the resource.

As development continues, Resolution Copper will expand its underground operations, conduct extensive drilling and orebody characterization, and maintain both the permitting process and ongoing public engagement with Native American tribes, local communities, and stakeholders.

The Resolution Copper project is vital to securing America’s energy future, infrastructure needs, and national defense by providing a domestic supply of copper and other critical minerals. Once operational, it has the potential to become one of the largest copper mines in the United States, contribute approximately $1 billion annually to Arizona’s economy, and create thousands of local jobs in a region with more than a century‑long mining heritage.
