Nous sommes à la recherche d’un ou d’une personne talentueuse et expérimentée pour occuper le poste de chef(fe) de service, Communication, Minéraux dont le mandat consiste à diriger nos efforts de communication pour le groupe de produits Minéraux. C’est une excellente occasion d’agir comme point de contact clé entre les équipes Communications du Groupe Rio Tinto et du groupe de produits, afin d’assurer alignement et uniformité dans l’ensemble des canaux de communication.

Dans le cadre de vos fonctions, vous superviserez l’ensemble des communications internes du groupe de produits, les publications externes propres à ce secteur de l’entreprise ainsi que les communications de l’unité d’affaires Rio Tinto Fer et Titane (RTFT) et du Centre de technologie, et vous fournirez un soutien stratégique en matière de communication à l’équipe de la haute direction. En outre, vous dirigerez une équipe de professionnels de la communication pour soutenir la réalisation de ce travail.

Relevant du chef des Communications et des Affaires externes, Minéraux au sein d’une communauté collaborative, dans un environnement stimulant et passionnant, vous assumerez les responsabilités suivantes :

  • Élaborer et mettre à exécution des stratégies de communications internes exhaustives pour le groupe de produits Minéraux, en phase avec les objectifs et les visées de ce secteur de l’entreprise.
  • Fournir un soutien stratégique en matière de communications internes et externes à l’unité d’affaires RTFT et au Centre de technologie.
  • Diriger l’équipe responsable des communications internes s’adressant à l’ensemble du personnel de Minéraux (intranet, bulletins, réunions générales, vidéos), établir des fils narratifs percutants et créer des contenus qui suscitent l’engagement et qui informent et motivent nos publics internes par le biais de ces canaux.
  • Agir comme interface entre les équipes des Communications du Groupe et celles des communications dans les sites pour assurer l’uniformité des messages et favoriser la collaboration.
  • Travailler en partenariat avec les membres de la haute direction pour répondre à leurs besoins en matière de communications afin d’assurer clarté, uniformité et alignement dans l’ensemble des messages, et collaborer étroitement avec le bureau de la chef de la direction de Minéraux pour ses communications internes.
  • Soutenir le déploiement et l’intégration des initiatives du Groupe Rio Tinto au sein de Minéraux.
  • Superviser des projets de production de rapports externes pour le groupe de produits, en veillant à ce que les rapports soient exacts et conformes aux exigences des parties prenantes, notamment le rapport annuel.
  • Surveiller et évaluer l’efficacité des stratégies de communication, en apportant des ajustements fondés sur des données selon les besoins.
  • Se tenir au courant des tendances et des meilleures pratiques de l’industrie afin d’améliorer continuellement nos efforts de communications internes.

Votre contribution 

  •  Engagement envers votre sécurité et celle de votre équipe  
  • Baccalauréat en journalisme, en communications ou dans un domaine connexe
  • Vaste expérience de gestion des divers aspects des enjeux liés à la réputation, des communications et de l’engagement des parties prenantes au sein de grandes entreprises, d’agences ou de ministères du gouvernement (et idéalement des meilleures pratiques en matière de planification des communications et de gestion de réputation)
  • Expérience de leadership éprouvée, notamment en gestion et développement d’équipes
  • Capacité à rédiger des messages pour gérer des problèmes complexes et délicats
  • Haut niveau d’expérience en élaboration de plans de communication stratégiques, proactifs et adaptés à l’appui des objectifs d’affaires et capacité à les mettre en œuvre de façon harmonieuse à l’aide de différentes méthodes
  • Expérience de gestion d’équipes interfonctionnelles dans une optique de coordination et d’intégration
  • Comportement hautement collaboratif; capacité à tirer de la valeur de l’organisation élargie par la mise en commun des connaissances, de l’expérience et des compétences, et expérience professionnelle dans une organisation matricielle
  • Expérience de travail avec des outils de communications de pointe, et volonté d’essayer de nouvelles méthodes ou technologies de communications
  • Si vous postulez pour le poste basé à Montréal, Québec, maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. 

We are looking for a talented and experienced Communications Manager to lead our communications efforts for the Minerals product group. This is a great opportunity for you to act as the key point of contact between Group Communications and product group site-based communications teams, ensuring alignment and consistency across all communication channels.

In this role, you will oversee all product group internal communications, oversee specific external publications for the product group, oversee Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium (RTIT) business unit and Technology Centre communications, and provide strategic communication support to the senior leadership team. Additionally, you will lead a team of communication professionals to to support the delivery of this work.

Reporting to the Chief Communications and External Affairs Officer, Minerals and working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies for the Minerals product group that align with its goals and objectives.
  • Providing strategic internal and external communication support to the RTIT business unit and the Technology Centre.
  • Leading the team responsible for internal communications to all Minerals employees (intranet, newsletters, townhalls, videos) and craft compelling narratives and create content that engages, informs, and motivates our internal audiences through these channels
  • Acting as an interface between Group Communications and site-based communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and collaboration.
  • Partnering with the senior leadership team to support their communication needs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across all messaging, including close collaboration with the Office of the Minerals Chief Executive for her internal communications.
  • Supporting the roll-out and embedding of Rio Tinto Group initiatives across Minerals.
  • Overseeing external reporting projects for the Product Group, ensuring reports are completed accurately and meet stakeholder requirements, including Annual Report.
  • Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices to continually enhance our internal communication efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field
  • Extensive experience in managing aspects of reputation, communications and stakeholder engagement in large companies, agencies, or government departments (ideally with experience of best-in-class Communications planning and reputation insight).
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in developing messaging to manage complex and sensitive issues.
  • A high level of experience in developing strategic, proactive, fit-for-purpose communications plans to support business objectives and the ability to seamlessly implement said strategies through various tactics.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams to coordinate and integrate.
  • Demonstrated highly collaborative behaviour and ability to derive value from the broader organization through sharing knowledge, experience, and skills, with experience in working in a matrix organization.
  • Experience working with cutting-edge communication tools and an interest in trying new communication methods or technologies.
