À propos du poste

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un spécialiste de catégorie – Approvisionnement LME (équipement mobile léger) basé à Montréal, Québec, se rapportant au service d’approvisionnement de Rio Tinto (RTP). Le spécialiste de catégorie appuiera le conseiller principal — équipement mobile en fournissant une analyse approfondie des marchés dans les catégories LME afin de permettre l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de stratégies de catégorie et de plans d’approvisionnement.

Ce poste représente une excellente occasion pour un professionnel de l’approvisionnement d’élaborer et de mettre à exécution des projets d’approvisionnement régionaux qui contribuent à l’obtention de résultats avantageux sur le plan commercial et qui offrent une valeur optimale à l’unité d’affaires de Rio Tinto. Vous serez chargé de ce qui suit :

  • Soutenir l’équipe régionale RTP dans l’analyse commerciale et de marché pour l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre des stratégies de catégorie et des plans d’approvisionnement; 
  • Soutenir des projets clés d’approvisionnement et de productivité dans un environnement collaboratif et dynamique;
  • Fournir une analyse commerciale et de marché approfondie pour soutenir les négociations commerciales; 
  • Élaborer des stratégies en matière de catégories, tirer profit de l’information et de l’expérience commerciale et présenter les stratégies aux hauts dirigeants du RTP aux fins d’approbation; 
  • S’assurer que des méthodologies de mise en œuvre de projets et des processus de gestion rigoureux sont déployés et que la mise en œuvre s’effectue conformément aux exigences du RTP en matière de processus, de documentation et de gouvernance; 
  • Préparer des rapports de gestion et des présentations sur une base régulière et ponctuelle;
  • Participer à des réunions en soirée ou tôt le matin, le cas échéant.

À propos de vous

Pour réussir dans ce poste, vous devrez posséder ce qui suit :

  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires ou l’équivalent;
  • Minimum de cinq années d’expérience en approvisionnement stratégique et un sens aigu des affaires;
  • Utilisation avancée de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Capacité de préparer et présenter des présentations à la direction;
  • Aptitude avérée à établir et à maintenir des relations et à collaborer avec un large éventail d’intervenants et de fournisseurs pour exécuter des projets d’amélioration de l’approvisionnement et de la productivité;
  • Capacité d’appliquer une pensée critique et analytique et de mettre des idées novatrices en application ;
  • Capacité de travailler sans supervision et d’être entreprenant. Maitriser le français et l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les fonctions de ce poste exigent une collaboration quotidiennement avec des collègues, des équipes u des partenaires basés à l’extérieur du Québec.

Procurement Category Specialist – Light Mobile Equipment (LME)

About the role

We are looking for a ProcuremenCategory Specialist – LME (Light Mobile Equipment) based in Montreal, Quebec reporting into Rio Tinto Procurement (RTP). The Category Specialist will support the Principal Advisor – Mobile Equipment by providing in-depth analysis of the markets across LME categories to enable the development and implementation of category strategies and sourcing plans.

This role is a great opportunity for a Procurement professional to develop and execute regional sourcing projects which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable outcomes and optimal value to the Rio Tinto Business Unit. You will be;

  • Supporting the RTP Regional Team in commercial and market analysis for the development and implementation of Category Strategy and Procurement Plans.
  • Supporting key Sourcing and Productivity projects in a collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Providing in-depth commercial and market analysis to support commercial negotiations
  • Developing category strategies, leveraging market intelligence and experience and presenting the strategies to Senior RTP leaders for endorsement.
  • Ensuring sound management processes and project implementation methodologies are deployed and implementation is completed in accordance with RTP’s process, documentation and governance requirements
  • Preparing management reports and presentations on a regular and adhoc basis
  • Participating in evening or early morning meetings as required

What you’ll bring 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Equivalent;
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategic procurement experience with strong commercial acumen;
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to prepare and present executive presentations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders and vendors to deliver procurement and productivity improvement projects;
  • Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking and drive innovative ideas to fruition;
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebec.

  • Relevant experience reviewing and negotiating lease and purchase contracts
  • Exposure to mobile equipment total lifecycle costs
  • Fleet management experience
